LMI is proud to share the contributions that Hispanic Americans have made to this nation in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month. Analisa Oviedo-Gomez, senior analyst, environmental compliance, reflects fondly on her uncle as her inspiration to join a student-led, military-style college organization. She shares, “My Uncle Henry was a Private First Class in the 173rd Airborne Brigade, 4th Battalion, 503rd Infantry C-Company and is honored on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. and in his hometown in Texas.” Analisa’s Uncle Henry earned a Purple Heart for his service in the Vietnam War, where he defended his company through small arms fire and ultimately lost his life. Analisa honored her uncle by joining Texas A&M University’s Corps of Cadet program and the nationally famous Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band. She says this “helped me become a leader of character who embodies values such as honor, integrity, discipline, and selfless service.” To keep the values of her uncle alive today, she strives to incorporate some of the selfless service and kindness that he showed during his life and in his service in the Vietnam War. Re-share Analisa’s story or share your own in celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month. 🙌 // #PeoplePoweringPossible #DiversityEquityInclusion #Veteran #HispanicHeritageMonth //
