It was an honor to share all about #generativeai in the Italian language classroom as part of the Primo Incontro ITANJ Conference @rutgersu yesterday! Spent a wonderful day with the Bilingual Team in Fort Lee Public Schools 🦋 A special thank you to supervisor Disha Patel for inviting me to join! 🙏🏻 We S.O.A.R-ed in cultivating multilingual literacy across the disciplines by thoughtfully targeting one text to serve MANY purposes! 📖 There is such an array of interdisciplinary connections in meaningful stories. ⭐️ We reflected in how to personalize students paths in bilingualism by better understanding learning styles, differentiating and unpacked a variety of literacy strategies to assist our students in their pre-during-post reading skills. It was a great day filled with amazing energy & enthusiasm from this fantastic group of educators! I am grateful to have had the experience to lead this work and thrilled that their bilingual programs thrive thanks to each of them 🤗

We are S.O.A.R-ing again this year in Hawthorne High School #teamlologramos 🦋 Honored to work with this team of World Language teachers! 💕A special thank you to Assistant Principal, Mrs. Pasquale for the invitation to return! 🤗 Yesterday we discussed forming classroom communities, proficiency in our classes and next steps to set up cohesive expectations from level to level within their program - it all connects back to assessments and what we value in language acquisition/production ! Our workshop series is Personalizing the Path to Proficiency and I am ecstatic to return for two more visits in the near future to continue this important work! 🤩 Hoping you have also kicked off the new school year well - forming meaningful relationships with students to set them up for language proficiency success, day by day! 🎉
