One of the most effective ways to advocate for our climate, our wild lands, wildlife and wild waters is through personal and community actions. Lodestar makes that possible with partnerships like these -- that connect all of us that camp, explore, hike, fish and enjoy the outdoors with the local grassroots orgs that make all of this possible. Idaho Conservation League and Selway Bitterroot Frank Church Foundation are the tireless, unsung heroes that work to protect and regenerate Idaho and Montana's public lands and waters for all to enjoy. Plan a trip on Lodestar to visit some of the wild places these orgs have helped preserve and donate to help support their work. Photos: "Dark Skies"and "White Clouds" by Ed Cannady

About us
Lodestar is a social giving platform built to empower everyone to adventure outdoors and take action to support our climate and conserve the wild places we play. Lodestar provides a FREE all-in-one outdoor adventure app to build community, plan trips, calculate the carbon footprint, and connect outdoor adventurers with local grassroots nonprofits to fund regeneration of climate, planet and community. As a Certified B Corporation, our mission is to make the outdoors accessible to all while cultivating environmental stewardship. With every adventure our members support local nonprofit partners — in the very same spots they explore — and wipe out carbon making their trips climate-positive. We cannot protect our climate, or our planet without individual action, but it's overwhelming and difficult to always know what to do or how we can make a difference. While we are often given consumer oriented solutions to adopt - such as conserving energy and buying greener products, one of the most effective and least offered solution is to support local nonprofits doing the boots on the ground work. Yet, environmental and climate focused nonprofits only receive 2% of all charitable giving in the U.S. Lodestar hopes to change this by simplifying the giving process and providing a fundraising platform that connects adventurers with a comprehensive network of vetted, local grassroots orgs. Join us! We are partnering with a growing list of the grassroots change-makers on the planet. Another exciting announcement for Lodestar- a new kind of outdoor adventure travel platform that is focused on engaging the outdoor community in truly sustainable outdoor exploration. The Lodestar platform & app provides seamless trip planning combined with climate impact tracking and connects members with grassroots nonprofits working to conserve and protect the places they are visiting. And did I mention we are offering all of this for FREE? No gimmicks, no ads. We are passionate explorers and earth advocates who believe protecting our planet starts and ends with each one of us exploring, caring, and taking action. Lodestar makes that possible. Go to www.lodestarhub.com to learn more and join us in this journey, or please reach out me to connect, collaborate and partner with us. See press release for more! . . . “We are thrilled to partner with the Idaho Conservation League and the Selway Bitterroot Frank Church Foundation,” said Alicia Roessler, co-founder and CEO of Lodestar. “These two organizations share the same core values as Lodestar — inspiring people to turn their good intentions into meaningful action and protecting the wild places where we play.” Planning sustainable outdoor adventures can be time-consuming. Lodestar, a free, comprehensive platform for seamless adventure planning, is leading the way in integrating sustainability practices into outdoor recreation. With user-friendly planning tools and top-tier features, the app empowers users to support trusted local grassroots organizations that are doing valuable work in the communities they explore. Lodestar thoroughly vets every impact partner to ensure that 100% of each donation supports their on-the-ground efforts and benefits local communities. “Currently, only 3% of all charitable donations go to conservation and climate nonprofits,” says Roessler, an environmental attorney with extensive experience working with nonprofits focused on preserving public lands and waters. “We believe that by simplifying the process of donating to grassroots organizations, we can encourage more outdoor enthusiasts to contribute.” #regenerativetravel #sustainabletravel #climatetech #impactinvesting https://lnkd.in/gnsTvv4C

For anyone who has ever fought against these oil companies - this won't be a surprise. Deception, lies, false promises, shattered communities, dirty water and significant loss of biodiversity lay in their wake. It's always a good day when these crimes against our planet are exposed for all to see. "“The evidence uncovered by oversight committee Democrats shows that big oil has run campaigns to confuse and mislead the public,” said Maryland Democrat Jamie Raskin, ranking member on the committee. “Today’s joint report demonstrates that big oil continues to conceal the facts about their business model and obscure the actual dangers of fossil fuels.”" "The documents, summarized in a committee report, come from big oil firms Exxon, Shell, BP and Chevron, as well the lobbying organizations the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the US Chamber of Commerce. They date back to 30 November 2015 – just weeks before the signing of the Paris climate accord." https://lnkd.in/gTRNbyvw #climatejustice #bigoilcaughtagain

🌎 Earth Day Announcement: Lodestar has some really big news I am so happy to share today . . . 💚 The Lodestar Outdoor Adventure platform is now FREE - free full-featured memberships & free from ads! Inspiring outdoor stewardship is at the heart of our mission. We’re excited to make the Lodestar Outdoor Adventure app free so people can devote their funds and support directly to our grassroots nonprofit partner network doing meaningful work for our climate, our communities and the wild places we play. We think Mother Earth should be celebrated every day, and that the best way to do that is by helping people get outside and do more outdoor adventures that connect us to the wild places we explore. The more we experience and connect with nature, the more we care and are inspired to take action to help protect and restore her. This isn't just wishful thinking, it's something I've personally experienced. It's the reason my partner John Roessler and I built Lodestar. Over my twenty years as an environmental attorney, I have worked side-by-side with frontline communities fighting to protect their drinking water, their neighborhoods, their schools, their beaches and their forests from being destroyed by the oil and gas giants. Every time I have been in awe of the communities who rise up, against all hope of winning, to defend their basic human right to clean water and access to unpolluted wild places to explore. And in my experience, we won every single time, because when your home and your health is under threat, giving up just isn't an option. When we travel, and explore more of the amazing wild places we have on Earth, our "home" expands beyond our neighborhoods and towns. That wilderness area where we camped on the river the last five summers with the kids now starts to become part of our "home" that we will want to protect. That OG mountain town we visit and ski all winter offers us a new community we want to be a part of. When our world expands, so do our hearts. Earth needs us now, and giving up is not an option. Join with us. Special thanks to Pete Gombert for your valued advice and guidance on this journey!

We've launched a lot of new features so It seems like a good time to introduce Lodestar to our growing community. Lodestar is a women-led B Corp created by outdoor athletes and earth advocates who live and play outdoors every day. We are passionate about inclusivity, community, our climate and regenerative outdoor recreation. So we built the best, truly comprehensive platform that provides everything we need to get outdoors more, and to do it responsibly. In addition to providing a truly all-in-one app for your outdoor life, Lodestar makes it easy to connect with and support local nonprofits where you play and to make your trip climate positive - all on the Lodestar web app. We seek to empower our members to take small actions that collectively bring real change and extinguish eco-anxiety. And we are just getting started. If you'd like connect, learn more, or are interested in partnering with us on this adventure. - please reach out! I'd love to hear from you. Best, Alicia Co-founder & CEO
