A recent study led by Dr. Ryan Sinclair at Loma Linda University School of Public Health reveals that the Salton Sea's shoreline is retreating at accelerating rates. This recession exposes areas of the lakebed that release polluted dust, impacting nearby communities’ air quality and health. To support local communities in understanding these changes, the research team is utilizing balloon mapping to monitor the lake and gather insights that could lead to restoration efforts. As a parent raising a child with ADHD, it’s important to understand their unique challenges. Children with ADHD aren’t lazy; they often get bored easily and have bursts of energy that might seem like hyperactivity, even through talking. They’re smart and capable, but may require extra support from you and their teachers to stay focused. If these characteristics begin to affect their social, academic or home life, consulting with a healthcare professional is strongly recommended. Breast cancer screenings can bring anxiety, but it’s important to remember that negative results are more common than you might think. According to the American Cancer Society, only 10% of women are called back for further testing after a mammogram, and most of them won’t have cancer. Dr. Halley Vora, director of breast health services, highlights that these screenings are highly effective in detecting abnormalities. If you’re feeling uncertain, know that many go through this process and receive reassuring results. Learn more here. ⤵️ https://bit.ly/3Nt3IQO

Dominique, after a 12-year struggle with serious heart failure, marked a milestone in medical history by delivering a healthy baby girl. Years earlier, doctors implanted an LVAD to help her heart pump blood, expecting she’d need a transplant. Remarkably, her heart improved with the LVAD alone. Pregnancy, however, remained uncharted territory for someone with Dominique’s unique conditions. As Dr. Dmitry Ambramov and his team closely monitored her heart, they assured that her body was ready for pregnancy. She gave birth to her daughter, who she would later name Faith to symbolize the spiritual resilience that helped her through some of the darkest times of her life. Dominique’s case is rare and has become a source of inspiration for our medical team and other patients facing severe health challenges. Read her story: https://bit.ly/3BLvsh0
