This week we wrapped up an energizing few days working behind the scenes at the Clinton Global Initiative 2024 Meeting with the Clinton Foundation, filming and providing content for the onsite experience and for social media channels — which received 3.1 million video views! This was our third year in a row at CGI, and we created 47 unique editorial pieces — including the signature opening and closing videos and a series of vignettes focused on issues spanning humanitarian response, women and girls, food security, the care economy, clean jobs, water access, and youth education. This year’s theme was “What’s Working,” and it was truly inspirational to be in the room with all of those who are doing the work, connecting the dots, and scaling for impact. And we even had a surprise visit on stage from President Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden! We were proud to be part of a great CGI team along with MARKHAM and other partners — now that’s a wrap! #LongStoryShort #LSSWrapped #CGI2024 #CGI #ClintonFoundation #ClintonGlobalInitiative #WhatsWorking #ClimateWeekNYC

At LSS, we’re often inside studios and edit rooms crafting stories — but we love it when we have the opportunity to film outdoors and showcase the natural world. And we love even more showcasing stories about making those experiences accessible to everyone. As part of our ongoing partnership with the National Park Foundation, we were asked to craft a film highlighting Latino Outdoors, a Latinx-led organization focused on expanding experiences in nature. By providing a safe, inclusive space to explore, many participants are able to experience our National Parks for the first time. Through the National Park Foundation’s work, groups like Latino Outdoors are able to inspire a new generation of outdoor leaders, including communities historically excluded from national parks. We filmed with participants traveling by boat from Boston to explore the Boston Harbor Islands National Park. LSS producer Hannah Sanchez shared the joy of working on this project: “It's nice to see my community being highlighted and lifted up through the work that we do and the work that NPF does.” Watch this excerpt of a profile we produced to showcase Latino Outdoors’ work with the National Park Foundation — and you can see a Spanish version here: https://lnkd.in/eRVejBCG #NationalParksFoundation #HispanicHeritageMonth #LatinoOutdoors #NPF #Latinx #Outdoors #LSS #LongStoryShortMedia

Today is National Women’s Equality Day, and we’d like to share some important work we’ve done with our longtime client, the National Women's Law Center. We are proud to have collaborated with NWLC on a video series called “Defiant” that shared the stories of six abortion providers across the country — and even prouder that it was a Silver Winner at the 3rd annual The Anthem Awards. LSS Associate Producer Emily Alff shares about the personal importance of working on this project: "I feel a calling to share women's stories — after all, women's stories are everyone's stories. But in this moment when essential care is being denied, we especially need to listen to and support each other, including our health care providers." #WomensEqualityDay #AnthemAwards #NationalWomensLawCenter #LSSMedia

Congratulations to our longtime clients and partners at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation for the recognition of their "Now is the Time: Finish the Fight for an AIDS-free Generation" campaign. It won an honorable mention in the 2024 PRNEWS Nonprofit Awards in the "PR on a Shoestring Budget" category. LSS was proud to produce the campaign video with them! Long Story Short… you can now see our work with National Park Foundation on Paramount+! During National Park Week, you can enjoy live streams from seven national parks on Paramount+, and also learn more about the National Park Foundation and their work through videos produced by LSS - like this one, about the Leaders of Color service corps. This all-BIPOC service corps gives BIPOC youth a safe, inclusive space to gain hands-on work experience that can open the door to careers in conservation. On this #InternationalWomensDay, we’re celebrating the work of one of our longtime clients, the National Women's Law Center. For fifty years, they’ve been advancing gender justice and equity across a range of vital issues, using the law to turn anger into action. Watch this piece we created with NWLC for their campaign “Defiant: Stories from Abortion Providers on the Frontlines,” a collection of interviews with abortion providers in states across the country telling the stories of their work and lives in their own words. The campaign won twice at The Anthem Awards this year, presented by the The Webby Awards to celebrate purpose & mission-driven work. #WomensHistoryMonth #InspireInclusion

What do you think is the future of video? We asked ChatGPT for its "thoughts," and added our own. Read more from CEO Jessica Stuart and Executive Vice President Bob Yule.
Like pretty much every other professional I know, I asked ChatGPT what it thought about the future of our industry. Here's what it said - and, my response.
