The Biden-Harris administration has proposed a rule for minimum staffing levels for nursing homes at a level BELOW what recent studies have recommended. ◼ The proposal sets 3.0 total nursing Hours Per Resident Per Day (HPRPD) instead of 4.1 nursing HPRPD with .55 RN hours instead of .75 RN HPRPD ◼ 3.0 is BELOW the level recommended by experts and research, & BELOW the current national average! ◼ We recommend 4.2 total nursing hours per resident per day, including .75 RN Hours Per Resident Per Day, 1.4 Licensed (LPN) nursing Hours Per Resident Per day, and 2.8 qualified nurse aide Hours Per Resident Per Day.
