🚀 Excited to Dive into Longevity Medicine 101! 🧬 As I start exploring the fascinating world of longevity medicine introduced to me quite recently by Evelyne Bischof, MD, PhD Rahat Ghazanfar and Dr. Moien Khan (Thank you all for your great work) I’m discovering new terms and concepts that are truly mind-blowing! Here are a few that I’m particularly excited to learn more about: 🔬 Biogerontology – A sub-field of gerontology that focuses on the biological aging processes, its evolutionary origins, & aging interventions. 💊 Geroprotectors – Substances that can reduce the aging rate and increase a healthy lifespan (i.e certain drugs) 🔥 Inflammaging – The chronic low-grade inflammation that increases with age, contributing to age-related diseases. 🧬 Senolytics – Class of small molecules that are being actively researched for it's ability to selectively induce senescent cell death. It's incredible to see how far research has come and how easy it is to learn anything and everything one is passionate about! As someone who loves looking at things holistically Longevity medicine truly is the new way forward. I’m thrilled to be part of this journey into discovering how we can promote healthier, longer lives. 🌱 #LongevityMedicine #AgingResearch #Biogerontology #Geroprotectors #Senolytics #Inflammaging #Healthspan #Innovation #Science
