  • Meet Vivian Pierre, our Event Operations Manager! 🏈 Q: Tell us a little bit about what you do at the Chargers. A: I am part of the Event Operations Department. My team and I help our internal teams coordinate game days at SoFi and other special events we have at the Chargers. Q: Did you always have a desire to work in sports? A: Yes! I grew up as a competitive swimmer and knew I wanted to stay in sports one way or another. Q: How'd you get your start? A: I began my first sport position as Team Operations Coordinator for my former swim club team. There, I got to learn how to host USA Swimming competitions and really fell in love with planning and executing events. I began hosting sporting events at 19 years old and haven't stop since! Q: What is the most rewarding part of your job and why? A: I love getting to help plan every small detail of an event and watch it come to life! Q: Tell us about a woman that has inspired you and/or impacted your career today. A: My older sister played a great impact in my career. From proofreading my school essays to helping me update my resume and setting a great example of hard work and determination. Q: Real or fictional, living or deceased, who is one woman would you want to have dinner with? Why? A: Michelle Obama, I think she's a great advocate of women's education and the significance of having a career you are passionate about. Q: What advice do you have for those trying to get into sports/starting their career in the sports industry? A: Try as many things as possible, you never know what you will end up falling in love with. Mine was events but there are so many other departments that may be better suited for someone else, the more you try the more you'll know and grow! #workinsports #eventoperations

  • As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we are excited to shine a spotlight on our incredible staff members who inspire and empower others every day. Get to know Natalie Rivera, our Community Relations Coordinator! 🤝 Q: Tell us a little bit about what you do at the Chargers. A: I work in Community Relations and Football Development, where I help bridge the gap between the Chargers and the community. In Football Development, I help oversee programs like Coach of the Week, Girls Flag, and Youth Tackle, working to grow the game at all levels. On the Community Relations side, I support initiatives like Community Corner and the Bolts Book Club Literacy Program, creating meaningful connections and opportunities for fans, students, and local organizations. Q: Tell us about a woman that has inspired you and/or impacted your career today. A: A woman who has truly inspired me and shaped my career is Billie Jean King. As a trailblazer in sports, she demonstrated resilience, leadership, and the power of using one’s platform to create change. Her advocacy for gender equity and breaking barriers motivates me to push forward in my career, even when facing challenges. Billie Jean King taught me the value of hard work, perseverance, and standing up for what you believe in. Her influence continues to inspire me as I strive to grow and make a difference in the sports industry. Q: Real or fictional, living or deceased, who is one woman would you want to have dinner with? Why? A: One woman I would want to have dinner with is my mom. She’s no longer with us, but her influence continues to shape my life. She taught me to be strong—not just in tough times, but in standing up for myself, working hard, and pushing forward despite obstacles. She also showed me what it means to be a good mother, friend, and partner, leading with kindness, resilience, and grace. If I could have dinner with her again, I would cherish the chance to share stories, seek her advice, and enjoy her warmth and laughter. Q: What advice do you have for those trying to get into sports/starting their career in the sports industry? A: Say yes to every opportunity, no matter how big or small, every experience helps you build connections and gain valuable skills. Having a ‘no task is too small’ mentality will set you apart—some of the best opportunities come from being willing to put in the work and prove yourself. Also, be adaptable and open to learning. The sports industry moves fast, and the more proactive and flexible you are, the more doors will open for you. Network, stay persistent, and embrace every chance to grow—you never know where one opportunity might lead! learn more → chrg.rs/43jVRhL #workinsports #womenshistorymonth #community
