Earlier this week, Monnik Beer Company had the great opportunity to brew a beer with Straßenbrau in Berlin, Germany. Of course, they felt it only appropriate to brew a Kentucky Common, but with the wonderful twist of using German ingredients. The beer consists of Weyermann Pilsner, Munich, Caramunich, and roasted malts with German flaked mais, and has a single hop addition of hallertau mittelfruh. Monnik sends out a special thanks to Timo and Seba for hosting them!

Pride, Y’all! There’s a lot going on this weekend, including Kentuckiana Pride Foundation Parade & Festival! To celebrate, West Sixth Brewing NuLu has brought back PRIDE Y’ALL, a 5.5% sour ale brewed with raspberries, vanilla and lactose. A refreshing tart ale with big raspberry aroma and flavor with a pleasant finish that is softened by lactose and slight vanilla cream. A percentage of proceeds directly benefit Kentuckiana Pride. Kentuckiana Pride Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit promoting social, economic, and health equity of Kentuckiana’s sexual and gender minorities - promoting pride, celebrating achievements, and educating leaders. Want to support Kentuckiana Pride in another way at West Sixth? Ask your bartender about the Wooden Nickel program on your next visit to Nulu.
