  • Corenza Townsend serves as the Chief Administrative Officer of Norton West Louisville Hospital. Recognized as a changemaker and visionary, Townsend specializes in finding operational solutions around known community and workplace opportunities. She began her career with Norton Healthcare in 2009 as a Licensed Practical Nurse implementing Epic. In 2012 she began her leadership journey as a Practice Supervisor with Norton Medical Group and was promoted in 2016 to Practice Manager of the world-renowned Norton Leatherman Spine Center. In 2022, her journey at Norton’s continued as she was tapped to serve as the leader of the new Norton West Louisville Hospital, the first hospital in west Louisville in over 150 years. Corenza is active within her community serving as a board member for several local nonprofits. Corenza will serve as keynote speaker at LCCC’s 8th Annual West Louisville Economic Mobility Summit.   • CREATIVE! FORWARD-THINKING! SUPPORTIVE! These are the words used to describe Cassandra Hayes. Cassandra serves as the Principal of Layne Elementary School. She reminds her students daily that we grow through, what we go through. She believes that all students, staff, and families should be included in all aspects of the school as it belongs to them. She has an open-door policy and is always willing to meet with students, parents, and staff to discuss opportunities to make Layne more inclusive. She has worked diligently to ensure that we have inclusion of all people at Layne, putting together a Racial Equity Committee which reviews school rules, practices, and events to ensure they are inclusive of all. Over half the staff at Layne are working to increase their knowledge of equity and inclusion. Cassandra has worked with staff to develop a number of committees to improve the school’s culture and climate. She has been a shining beacon of light during a dark time in education, leading the school flawlessly through NTI, COVID, and other changes. El Kentubano is a newspaper for the Hispanic Community. Since 2009, it has become the voice of the Cuban Community of Kentucky reaching 25,000+ with each publication. El Kentubano is instrumental in supporting small businesses, especially new businesses owned by the Hispanic Community through promotion of their products and services.   • CARING! CURIOUS! COMMITTED! These are the words used to describe Carolyn Tandy. Carolyn serves as the Senior Vice President & Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer at Humana. Carolyn launched an enterprise-wide commitment to cultural competence awareness for leaders and employees, with on-going learning opportunities to build and maintain Humana’s culture of inclusivity.
