Careers In Construction Month 🛠️ “Knowledge is one thing a person will never lose. Money and materials fade away, but knowledge always stays with a person. I used to have a natural fear of being shocked or burned by electricity which led me to take the electrical learning courses through our Track to The Trades program which taught me the proper precautions to take when doing electrical work. As a result, I recently completed a major electrical system upgrade in my shop at home where I replaced my breakers and rewired lights to support a more streamlined LED look. Being able to complete projects like these on my own remind me why knowledge is so powerful and why I am thankful to have access to programs like Track to The Trades here.” – Jessie W., Assistant Store Manager #CareersinConstructionMonth #LowesFoundationCICM

“The aftermath of Helene has been catastrophic and unbelievable. I have never witnessed devastation like this, but our community and our store are resilient. We closed our store on Friday, September 27th and did not think that we would ever open the doors again. Unfortunately, the Swannanoa River runs on one side of the store, and it crested at 28ft above flood stage, causing massive damage and flooding to our amazing store. Even with our store down, we quickly came together as a team and as a company to build our temporary store site within days to begin supporting our community. The commitment of our team has been truly inspiring as we help our community and each other through this tough time. Seeing how quickly we have responded and what we have donated has been amazing and reminds me why I am a proud member of this family.” Jill G., Scheduling & Staffing Admin

In the wake of the devastation in North Carolina from Hurricane Helene and the impact of Hurricane Milton this week, we are donating an additional $10 Million to support hurricane relief. "The destruction in the western part of our home state is overwhelming, and we're seeing firsthand the total impact of Hurricane Milton," said Marvin Ellison, Lowe's chairman and CEO. "I'm grateful for the ongoing response from the entire Lowe's team, from our frontline associates to our supply chain team, as well as our vendor partners. I also want to share my gratitude for our customers' support of the American Red Cross at checkout in stores. The road to rebuild is going to be long and challenging, and I want our associates and the communities we serve to know that Lowe's will be there for them every step of the way." 🛠️ 20 Year Career Advice “If I could give myself advice on my first day here 20 years ago, I would say to believe in yourself and do your best. You can be anything you want to be in this world! When I started here, my first few weeks were spent setting steel, receiving trucks, and stocking shelves. It was hard work but building something from the ground up was awesome to me. I look at my career here similarly. I began as a Head Cashier and worked hard to move my way up to now being an Operations Assistant Store Manager. I know that I am where I am today because of my passion to continue learning and because of the many incredible mentors along the way.” - Misty W., ASM Operations #LowesLife
