We are believers in — and builders of — affordable, accessible healthcare technologies. Our aim is to disrupt the economics of healthcare by creating low-cost, high-tech diagnostic instruments that are accurate and easy to use. Lumedica is currently developing and delivering its first fully-patented technology to market: affordable OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography). The Lumedica team has a proven track record in scientific innovation, product development, and private and public fundraising. Lumedica is currently funded by grants from the NIH and the State of North Carolina.

Check out the job description below. ⬇️ Lumedica, Inc, a rapidly expanding biomedical imaging startup located in Durham, specialized in creating and manufacturing affordable optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging systems. We are seeking a skilled assembler with a passion for and basic knowledge of photonics technology. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, and troubleshooting our cutting-edge imaging devices. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the manufacturing production of optical imaging systems, collaborating with a team of technicians and assemblers, and ensuring that all imaging systems are built in accordance with quality standards. Required skills: A basic understanding of integrated systems (mechanics, optics, electronics) is essential. Candidates must work well in a small team and have excellent communication skills. Preferred skills: Proficiency in precision soldering, reading assembly drawings and blueprints, wiring and cable harnessing, PC (Windows) desktop skills, and RMA troubleshooting for photonic and electronic systems. Compensation and Benefits: Compensation is commensurate with experience.
