Designing solutions means figuring out how to not only adapt to a built environment but use its features to our advantage while maximizing natural light. Recently, when the Woodland Park Zoo needed to update its Komodo dragon exhibit to provide better insulation, we used Solatube International, Inc. Tubular Daylighting Devices to illuminate the space with natural daylight without sacrificing insulation or aesthetics. Check out the transformation here:

All lumenomics offices will be closed on Wednesday, June 19th, in observance of #Juneteenth. Join us in celebrating this day and reflecting on how we can continue liberating our world from the systemic legacies of slavery, racism, colonization, and white supremacy. To learn more about the history of this holiday, we encourage you to explore the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture Juneteenth resource page, linked here:

We had a fabulous time at GSBA's #Pride Power Connect at the Space Needle! It was great to meet, connect, and celebrate Pride with other LGBTQ+ businesses, organizations, and professionals.

Daylight's brilliance comes from its full spectrum of natural light. Similarly, our world shines best and brightest when reflecting the vibrant diversity of all people. This #Pride Month, as a National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) certified LGBTBE business, we're committed to ensuring everyone can shine bright- just like natural daylight. Happy Pride Month!

This year marks the 15th anniversary of lumenomics! In 2010, lumenomics opened our first HQ in Seattle, Washington. Located in the Alki neighborhood of West Seattle, this first office gave the company's remote workforce a physical footprint in the city and set the stage for groundbreaking design and construction work to begin. For 15 years, our deep passion for natural daylight has propelled us forward, inspiring creativity, exploration, and our vision for shaping the buildings of tomorrow. As we approach this significant milestone, we're compelled to pause and reminisce, cherishing the pivotal moments that define the lumenomics journey.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of lumenomics! For 15 years, our deep passion for natural daylight has propelled us forward, inspiring creativity, exploration, and our vision for shaping the buildings of tomorrow. As we approach this significant milestone, we're compelled to pause and reminisce, cherishing the pivotal moments that define the lumenomics journey. lumenomics was founded in 2009 in Seattle, Washington. Our name, a fusion of "Lumen" and "Economics," symbolized our commitment to merging illumination efficiency with sustainable design principles. Our color palette, carefully curated to reflect the hues of daylight and the sky, showcased an iconic yellow-green chosen for its distinctive flair and unwavering boldness. With our name, identity, and mission in place, we set out to maximize natural daylight in designed spaces.

As a National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) and WBENC-certified business, we're all about breaking barriers in our industry. Designing and installing the nation's largest window shade system is one of our proudest achievements! Thanks to the Seattle Convention Center for allowing us the opportunity to shine. 🪟☀️✨
We’d like to introduce you to lumenomics, the local female-founded company that created the shade solutions for our Summit building. Thanks to the expertise of Lumenomics, the Summit ballroom features one of the nation's largest window shade systems: 12 shades, each towering at an impressive 63 feet tall by 10 feet wide. The system’s retractable shades also boast room-darkening and light-filtering functions and completely cover the floor-to-ceiling windows. Marti Hoffer, Founder and CEO of Lumenomics, aptly described the ballroom window shade system as a "unique and exciting challenge." Her strategic contributions have advanced our commitment to becoming a green convention center and achieving LEED Platinum.
