Guided by Dr. Markus Markert, Sean delved deep into China's political changes since the year 2000. China's rapid rise to global dominance has surprised many. Xi Jinping is commonly seen as the driving force behind China's shift to authoritarian rule. However, the research offers a different perspective. Sean proposes that Hu Jintao's policies laid the foundation for China's authoritarian system, creating conditions that allowed Xi Jinping to implement more stringent measures.
