About us
Lunar Outpost is the industry leader in space robotics, lunar surface mobility, and space resources. We are on a mission to enable an extended human presence in space while utilizing the vast resources in space to drive positive impacts here on Earth. From our five rovers headed to the Moon to explore, prospect, and establish infrastructure, to the creation of oxygen on Mars, our impact spans the solar system. Lunar Outpost’s mobility and robotic systems, ranging from our exploration-class Mobile Autonomous Prospecting Platform (MAPP) rover to our truck-sized industrial Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV), will be the workforce for the New Space economy and enable Lunar Outpost to bring the infinite value of space to benefit humanity on Earth and beyond. Through notable commercialization and amazing partnerships, Lunar Outpost creates tremendous value in the New Space economy. Lunar Outpost leads the Lunar Dawn team, consisting of General Motors, Goodyear, and MDA Space – the leading consortium for LTV providing mobility for Artemis astronauts, a critical component of the broader Artemis campaign that will enable a sustainable presence on the Moon. Lunar Outpost’s five upcoming lunar surface missions will make history, with our first rover set to be the first commercial rover on the Moon and the first rover in history to explore the lunar South Pole, while enabling the first sale of space resources in human history alongside many other firsts. Each of our next four rover voyages build on our capabilities and technology, all leading towards mobility and robotic systems that can reliably operate in the most extreme environments our solar system has to offer.

At Lunar Outpost, we’re pushing the boundaries of space innovation with LuxThermal - an autonomous system designed to provide thermal and electrical energy to rovers, habitats, and other critical infrastructure on the lunar surface. By extending system lifetimes, LuxThermal will play a vital role in ensuring the sustainability of lunar missions. Currently, we’re testing LOTESS - a scaled down version of LuxThermal - in a lab to validate its end-to-end functionality, focusing on efficient heat storage, transfer, and distribution. These tests are key to ensuring space systems can endure the extreme conditions of the lunar night, bringing us closer to sustainable missions on the Moon and beyond. #TheNextLeap #LunarOutpost #SpaceTech #Innovation

Meet Randy Rodriguez – Director of Vehicle Design at Lunar Outpost! Randy brings an incredible passion for industrial design and a love for transportation that has fueled a diverse career spanning sports cars, semi-trucks, RVs, airplanes, and even self-driving cars with leading vehicle manufacturers. Inspired by dreams of space exploration, Randy has now turned his focus to designing vehicles for the Moon, helping to shape Lunar Outpost's groundbreaking Lunar Terrain Vehicle (LTV). As Director of Vehicle Design, Randy does more than just craft sleek exteriors—it's about creating a vehicle that balances form and function. Randy leads the design process from specifications to physical layout, with careful consideration of human factors, proportions, materials, and usability. His work is not just about aesthetics but ensuring that Astronauts will have a vehicle that is intuitive, highly functional, and designed to thrive in the harsh lunar environment. Reflecting on his role, Randy says, "Our goal is to create a vehicle that Astronauts appreciate for its thoughtful design—a tool that makes their work more effortless as they endure the conditions of the lunar surface." What drew Randy to Lunar Outpost? The dream of exploring space has been a lifelong passion. Childhood memories of watching NASA missions and sci-fi classics like Gattaca inspired his vision. Now, Randy looks up at the Moon and envisions Lunar Outpost’s LTV in action, aiding the next era of space exploration. #TheNextLeap #DrivingArtemis #LunarOutpost #SpaceTech #Innovation
