So that's a wrap on the 2024 Valorant Champions Tour Finals at the Inspire Arena, Seoul. And it just gets more WOW every year! The opening ceremony was creatively led by the brilliant team at DONE+DUSTED, where we worked fluidly with Silent Partners Studio and Technical Supervisor Russell Spud Murphy. For the the Main Show, Riot Games production team led, with creative from Histeria! Lux Machina provided the screen control and media server systems & talent, powered by Lux ARCA, utilizing Pixera to playback 2D Content on a myriad of Creative Technology Korea built LED Screens. PixMob, with Bryan Klunder and his lighting team used data to trigger lighting effects synched with our screen triggers. Proudest geek achievement: A camera fly-through entering a portal into the game map that was used as a transition to start gameplay. Kudos to Jonathan Daly for the ideas and the team work. National Intern Day! Lux Machina Consulting was delighted to welcome Merlin Alexander, who just completed a 6-week internship in our new Burbank offices. Merlin, who is a university student at the Bordeaux YNOV Campus in France, spent his summer taking our Unreal Engine from the Beginning course, learning about In-Camera Visual Effects, and seeing how Lux Machina works to design and work with LED Volumes. It was all new and exciting for Merlin, who has primarily worked in 2D design. As he noted: "It's very different to have to think about things in 3D to not only think about size and distance, but also how a composition comes together from different points of view... So it's definitely a very different experience designing for 3D and especially designing for a 3D space you can move around in." For our Lux Summer Education Experience we also hosted Henry Berkson, a high school student and aspiring lighting designer. Henry was able to visit the Lux volume, meet the staff, and join our Unreal Engine course.
