The images that remain in our minds after Pride are often those of the street festival. However, Pride, including the Luxembourg Pride, encompasses much more than just this festival, despite being the most prominent and visible event of the Pride Week. Despite the opening of our Rainbow Center on May 17, there is still much to do! In 2023, Luxembourg fell two places from 5th to 7th in the ILGA Europe Rainbow Index. We note that a new wave of prejudices and discrimination against the LGBTIQ+ community is coming from the USA: suddenly, trans and intersex individuals, as well as drag queens, are seen as a problem, only to distract from other issues. The European Conservative thanks and incorporates these issues into their discourse, while we are still working to establish legal equality and acceptance in all European countries. On October 8, 2023, voters in Luxembourg had once again the chance to cast their votes and thus help determine the political fate of Luxembourg. Like every year, we are once again putting the focus on 5 demands from the catalogue of demands by Rosa Lëtzebuerg, which, by the way, all parties have received for inspiration for their election programs. You can find all demands with detailed explanations on our website: https://buff.ly/3zH9zhV #LuxembourgPride #Pride2024 #CelebrateDiversity #LoveIsLove #LuxembourgPride2024 #TogetherInUnityProudInDiversity

A central element of a Pride has of course always been the Pride March. Since 2015, the stage programm at the street festival starts every year with the arrival of the march at the cityhall square in Esch-sur-Alzette. To underline the political character of this march, the parade in Luxembourg has been held under the name Equality March since 2015. The Equality March is a demonstration of solidarity and rejection of hate and ignorance. We are therefore happy to welcome anyone who is interested in joining us. Individuals or smaller groups of friends do not have to register and can spontaneously participate in the open block. Attention: The deadline for registering motorized vehicles has passed. Unregistered vehicles cannot participate in the Equality March. On June 12, the drawing of starting positions for all groups and vehicles took place at the Rainbow Center. All registered and confirmed groups and vehicles are requested to arrive at Bâtiment4 at the pre-communicated times (12:00 for motorized vehicles, 12:30 for walking groups). Individual participants and smaller groups can arrive without registration at 12:45 at Bâtiment4 and join the "open block." Volunteers from Rosa Lëtzebuerg and our partner organization Folklorama will assist you in finding your starting positions. Simply look for our volunteer parade angels in pink safety vests. The Equality March will begin at 13:00. You can find all details about the Equality March on our website: https://buff.ly/3CCmOyC But most importantly: come in large numbers, haave fun, be colorful, and be loud! #LuxembourgPride #Pride2024 #CelebrateDiversity #LoveIsLove #LuxembourgPride2024 #TogetherInUnityProudInDiversity #EqualityMarch2024 #EqualityMarch

On the second day of #LuxembourgPrideWeek2024, we have the following events for you: 19:00 PM - QUEER MOVIE NIGHT: VICTIM In collaboration with queer loox, the queer-feminist cinema club, and Cercle Cité, we present the neo-noir film "Victim" by Basil Dearden, now considered a milestone in British film history. Lawyer Melville Farr (Dirk Bogarde) takes up the case of a worker who is blackmailed for being homosexual at the cost of derailing his promising career. Now considered a classic of British film history, the film was the first of its kind in Great Britain to address gayness explicitly and deal with it in an open and emphatic manner, and it is largely credited with liberalising attitudes towards homosexuality in Great Britain and its later decriminalisation in 1967. 19:00 PM - WEBINAR via ZOOM: INTRODUCTION TO SEX AND GENDER DIVERSITY Discussing the complexities of gender identity and the challenges faced by intersex and transgender individuals in Luxembourg. Gain insights and ask questions. Please register by email at itgl.contact@gmail.com. #LuxembourgPride #Pride2024 #CelebrateDiversity #LoveIsLove #LuxembourgPride2024 #TogetherInUnityProudInDiversity

On Monday, July 8, 2024, we will kick off the official program of Luxembourg Pride 2024 with our traditional memorial ceremony! 19:00 - COMMEMORATION CEREMONY LGBTIQ+ people have been marginalized for centuries and are often still a victim to social hate and crimes. Today, we want to take a moment to honour those people who weren’t as fortunate as we are and show them our respect for the path that they freed for us. Take part in the guided tours in the National Museum of Resistance on „Forgotten victims“ and a reception after the official ceremony. 17:00, 19:30, 20:30 - GUIDED TOURS The exhibition tells the stories of people who were marginalized and socially excluded even before the German occupation. These include individuals who are poor, homeless, or have a different lifestyle or culture. It also encompasses people of colour, those belonging to religious minorities, or whose sexual orientation or identity does not align with the societal moral values. Additionally, people with disabilities are not to be forgotten. The Nazi ideology regarded them as „subhumans“ or „harmful elements.“ During the occupation of Luxembourg, they lost their rights and human dignity, were persecuted, forcibly sterilized, and even murdered. Guided tour in english: 17:00-18:30 Guided tour in luxembourgish: 19:30-20:00 Guided tour in french: 20:00-21:30
