A goal is just a set of smaller goals in succession. If you spend months training for a marathon but quit at Mile 19, you technically didn’t hit your main goal. But you did run a half-marathon. That’s a major milestone. And while trying to run a marathon, you built processes for effective training and learned a lot along the way. As you continue aiming for the marathon, you’re better equipped to get there because you’ve worked so hard to this point. Listen to LVL-Up CEO Rona J. talk to Catherine Keller of Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia (GOTR NOVA) about goal-setting on YouTube or your favorite podcast app! https://lnkd.in/e3MYBrd4 #GirlsOnTheRun

This is a must-see! A perspective on Filipino American history AND heritage that you may not know about. We’ve had so much fun celebrating FAHM this month, and we are very excited to share this compilation of incredible stories with you. Thank you CeeWave Productions for documenting our history and inspiring our community to build upon our Filipino American history and legacy. https://lnkd.in/ee3d89CM #FAHM #FilipinoHistoryAmericanMonth

Never discount a mom’s perspective. Sheila Lirio Marcelo founded Ohai.ai, a platform that leverages AI-powered household assistants to lighten your workload at home. This was after taking care.com public, being only the seventh female and the first Asian American woman to ring the NYSE bell. Stories like Sheila’s inspire us to continue elevating the Filipino American community. Attend a Philippine-American Chamber of Commerce event, listen to The Filipino American Woman Project podcast (which just launched its fifth season), and dine at the Purple Patch. The only wrong way to be a change agent is by doing nothing. How will you help your community move forward? #FAHM #FilipinoAmericanHistoryMonth #RepresentationMatters

White House tour for Filipino American History Month! It was an honor to be surrounded by talented innovators (like Carlyle Nuera) and leaders (like Melissa Ramoso and Cameron Sasai) in the Filipino-American community while being in such a historic place. I'm reminded of the depth of our impact when we step up to lead. Thank you Matthew Veland and Brendan Flores for all that you do in bringing together and uplifting this community!

Do you have to train others at work? This cheat sheet teaches you an effective learning framework called the Developing Others square. There are 4 primary stages of this growth journey. In each, there is a specific role for both the "learner" (aka "apprentice") and the "expert" (aka "master-craftsperson"). Effective progression around the square toward mastery means responsibility and support/challenge are gradually increased for the individual at each stage over time - not all at once, but calibrated to keep pace with the learner's ability to handle it. Beware that Pit of Despair! Your learner will feel overwhelmed, and it’s your job to throw them a ladder and help them get out. Have other leaders on your team? Send them this post! Lotta talk about buffalos lately. They run toward the storm—not away from it—because it is the fastest way through. This requires strength though. You need physical strength to walk this earth as long as you like. You need mental strength so you’re not too afraid to start walking…and keep walking. EFMs are practitioners in mental strength. We willingly walk into unknowns time and time again. And don’t forget: buffalo move in herds. They aren’t going through that storm alone. There is strength walking through the storm and there is strength in numbers. Let LVL-Up be your herd. Find out how: https://lnkd.in/eEEBe2Di #SmallBusinessConsulting #LVLUpStrategies
