#ThrowbackFieldFriday – The moment when Senior Environmental Scientist, Alexis Casey, struck botanical gold! While conducting a rare plant survey for a transportation project in southern Oregon, she spotted the brilliant red blooms of Gentner’s Fritillary—a rare lily species. Standing three feet tall, this beauty practically glowed against the bank below the road. Finding a rare plant during a survey is a true fieldwork win! #RarePlant #SouthernOregon #PlantSurvey

Last week, we had the privilege of joining the City Of Silverton community for the first Main Street and Downtown Plaza Park open house. Approximately 65 community members came together to help shape the future of these vital public spaces! The evening focused on listening to the community's ideas, opportunities, and challenges to help inform development of design alternatives. Attendees engaged in real-time polling, participated in a lively Q&A session, and explored informational displays aimed at encouraging their imagination of how these important spaces can best serve current and future needs. A huge thank you to everyone who participated, asked thoughtful questions, and helped ensure these projects reflect Silverton’s unique community vision! A special shout out to the Main Street and Downtown Plaza Park task force, City staff, and First Forty Feet for what was a fun and informative event. Stay tuned as design alternatives are developed and brought back to the community for feedback! #PublicEngagement #SilvertonOR #Community #OpenHouse
