That’s a wrap on Manufacturing Month – MFG Month! 💥⚙️ The support of the manufacturing community to make this year’s #MFGMonth successful was beyond exceptional. This year, we partnered with 12 local manufacturers to showcase their facilities to over 400 educators and students from 14 school districts across our region. Through STEM-based learning activities, students had the opportunity to see how their skills and interests could be applied to careers in manufacturing. They also experienced modern manufacturing in action through facility tours at Byrne, Inc., Anheuser-Busch, Morse Manufacturing Co., Inc., TTM Technologies, OCWA - Central New York's Water Authority, Bartell Machinery Systems, Indium Corporation, Cayuga Community College’s Advanced Manufacturing Institute, Waygate Technologies, Bluefors, United Radio. Many companies organized hands-on activities to engage students, from performing PH and feathering testing on milk at Byrne, Inc. to a 55-gallon drum relay race at Morse Manufacturing Co., Inc.. 🐮🛢️ These experiences enabled students to make a greater and more meaningful connection between local industry and the products they see and use every day. It also served as a valuable opportunity to see and experience first-hand the exciting and rewarding careers in manufacturing. We partnered with Utica City School District and SUNY Polytechnic Institute to host the second annual 👷♀️⚙️Women in Manufacturing Summit 👷♀️⚙️ for 100 seniors from Proctor High School. The Women in Manufacturing Day event aims to raise awareness about professional growth and career opportunities for women in the manufacturing industry. Manufacturing has traditionally been a male-dominated field with women accounting for only 29% of the workforce. Our goal through events like this is to help inspire women to explore careers in manufacturing. By connecting women at a young age with opportunities to explore career pathways in manufacturing and raising awareness about the programs and services available, we're bridging the gap and empowering women to pursue careers they may have otherwise not considered or thought possible. 💪💫 #NextGenMFG #WomeninManufacturing

This prestigious honor recognizes leaders who have had a significant impact on the lives of others and who exemplify John Maxwell's belief that "Everything rises and falls on leadership." MACNY's 2024 Transformational Leadership Award recipient is Gagan Gill, Director of Quality at Baxter International Inc.
