I had a call with someone I hadn't met before. He started by saying, "I don't have much to give today." I was so inspired by his authenticity. I thanked him for joining the meeting anyway. I invited him to reschedule for when he had more energy. Have you reached your limit? Are you listening when someone else says they've reached theirs? -- Hi, I'm 👥 Maddie Tryforos. 📣 Attention WNC Business Leaders: You Don't Have to Rebuild Alone. The aftermath of #HurricaneHelene has deeply impacted our community, and everyone is trying to figure out how to move forward. I am hosting a FREE open forum for local business leaders to unite, share resources, and think about the next right step. I envision this as a series of sessions to work through material Rex Miller has put together on how to rebuild strategically. Here's what I need to know: What form is more accessible for you right now? 👥 In-Person or 💻 Virtual? Let me know in the comments, or send me a direct message. I believe we're better together and can support one another on this path to recovery. 💪 #HurricaneHeleneRecovery #WNCStrong #BusinessResilience #CommunityLeadership #DisasterRecovery #StrategicPlanning #WNCBusiness #RebuildTogether

The past two weeks have been crazy. But in the best way. Why? Because I prepared with intention wherever I could, which gave me the margin to handle the unexpected. I've been in full-time mom mode for two weeks while our amazing au pair enjoyed her well-deserved vacation. Balancing everything could have been overwhelming, but I approached it with intention, drawing from a strategy used by hundreds of professional athletes. 🔎 Before diving in, I created a detailed schedule. Why? To visualize how I’d show up daily, set realistic expectations, and define what "success" looked like in this new rhythm. 🏅 Athletes use visualization to picture their goals, fine-tune their mental game, and perform at their best. I took that same principle into my daily life. By envisioning the flow of my day, I prepared mentally and physically to be the mom I wanted to be—present, patient, and fully engaged. 🗓️ My schedule wasn’t just about managing my time. It was about managing my energy. Each day, I asked myself: What's my target for success today? How can I show up as my best self? What's the minimum I need to accomplish? What else would I like to accomplish? 🌟 What was the result of this prep work? A smoother transition into this temporary routine, less stress, and more quality time with my family. Performance science isn’t just for elite athletes. It’s for all of us. Whether you’re balancing parenthood, work, or personal goals, visualization can help you show up at your best—whatever your "best" looks like today. Have you ever used visualization or daily intentions to set yourself up for success? Comment below and share your experience! If you’re curious about applying these strategies to your routine or workplace, contact me—I'd love to help you get started! #PerformanceMindset #WorkLifeBalance #Visualization #ParentingWins #ProductivityTips

In challenging times, great leaders set the tone for those they shepherd. Recently, a documentary reminded me of the importance of how leaders respond during crises. The lesson? Stay calm, communicate clearly, and lead with purpose. After the tragic events of 9/11, President George W. Bush provided an example of crisis communication that leaders can learn from. His response was all about: Projecting Calm Avoiding panic is critical. When leaders stay steady, it strengthens others to do the same. Speaking Up In times of crisis, say enough to show you understand what's happening. Silence can create more uncertainty. Committing to Action Show decisiveness and outline a plan so everyone knows their role and what to expect. Encouraging Collaboration Crisis doesn't have to be faced alone. It's essential to work together towards a common goal. Providing Reassurance Remind people of the organization's core values and the stability that remains amidst the uncertainty. These principles transcend any single event. They remind us that effective leadership means showing up, speaking up, and acting with clarity and compassion. In the comments, give a shoutout to a leader you admire who has embodied these traits during a crisis. #Leadership #CrisisCommunication #LessonsInLeadership #Resilience

"Endings are not only part of life; they are a requirement for living and thriving, professionally and personally." – Dr. Henry Cloud To celebrate #NationalBookDay, I want to share how Dr. Henry Cloud's "Necessary Endings" has transformed my personal life, professional life, and consulting practice. This book is a roadmap that has taught me the critical importance of not just enduring endings but embracing them. By understanding when and how to let go, I've fostered growth and transformation for myself and those I coach. If you're familiar with Gallup's #CliftonStrengths assessment, my top 5 strengths are #Positivity, #Communication, #Relator, #Restorative, and #Empathy. And sneaking in at number eight is #Developer, so it's safe to say that endings aren't easy for me. My strengths make me biased toward finishing what I've started, relentlessly pursuing wholeness and restoration, and maintaining harmony even when that's just not feasible. Recognizing when and why it's challenging to let go has helped me navigate endings more productively and has shown me how to utilize my strengths to bring compassion and insight to such delicate times. Endings can be challenging, but they're going to occur whether you're ready or not. They're also a critical step toward thriving. Learning to lean in and embrace them will set you up for a smoother transition, more success, and a brighter future. What endings have you embraced that, while challenging, brought about significant growth? #Leadership #GrowthMindset #BookRecommendation
