Our mission at Magnopus has been to unite the physical and digital worlds with extraordinary experiences. Today marks a big step forward for us and anyone who wants to build a future where these cross-reality experiences are interoperable across devices and platforms. We’re open sourcing our Connected Spaces Platform. 🚀It’s now under the permissive Apache 2.0 free software license for any developer interested in more easily creating persistent, real-time spatial experiences connected across physical and digital, accessible across multiple platforms and devices. Our teams across the US and UK have worked on this technology for the past five years, at times with as many as 60 people. It’s been tested on public experiences and private betas with developers, it’s even been listed in TIME’s Best Inventions 2022. 🏆 Now, by going open source, we aim to contribute to the foundations for a more open and diverse spatial web that brings people together in shared experiences, and that communities can build on together.
