We are proud to announce that Maiker Housing Partners has been awarded 20 Foster Youth Initiative vouchers from HUD to support youth aging out of foster care. 💚 In partnership with Adams County Government , these vouchers will provide housing support to individuals between 18-24 years old who are transitioning out of foster care and at risk of homelessness. Our CEO, Peter LiFari, has been appointed chair of Colorado's Middle Income Housing Authority (MIHA)! 👏 The MIHA was formed to address the shortage of affordable housing for middle-income families (defined as 80% to 120% area median income). We look forward to seeing Peter advocate for middle-income families in this role. Thank you for all that you do for Coloradans, Peter!

Maiker's DEI committee recently launched the Language Justice Program — a new initiative that compensates bilingual employees who use their skills to provide better services to Maikers. 💚 Part of the DEI committee’s work is to listen to the individual and collective needs of our team to drive organizational change. We're proud to make services more accessible for our community members and Maikers alike. Learn more about the DEI committee: https://lnkd.in/gkFxweDW

ICYMI: Maiker's CEO, Peter LiFari, recently co-authored an op-ed featured in The Colorado Sun. Peter, alongside Jeff Bridges and Tamara Pogue, dug into the lack of affordable housing in our state which often overlooks middle-income families who can't afford housing but don't qualify for assistance. To support these families, new initiatives like innovative housing programs, middle-income housing investments, and the nation’s first Middle-Income Housing Authority pilot program have been introduced in Colorado. 💚 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gZPUsmxt

On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas with the news that the enslaved Black people in the state were free. Today, we honor and recognize this historic day as Juneteenth, which is now a federal holiday. We encourage our Maikers to take this day to reflect on and educate ourselves on the importance of equality. 💚
