About us

The Maine Brewers’ Guild is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and protecting the craft beer industry in Maine. The organization is a 501(c)6 nonprofit trade association with staff as well as a board of directors composed of key brewery employees as elected by brewery members. We are also supported by Allied Members who represent ancillary industries who work with brewers. Since 1986, Maine has been at the forefront of the craft beer movement. Our state is home to over 150 breweries which produce hundreds of beers; from juicy New England IPA’s to rich, malty English ales, stouts, porters, sours, Belgian ales, farmhouse ales, goses, gruits, crisp lagers and everything in between. Wherever you travel in Maine, you’ll find locally made ales and lagers that are fresh, unique and world class. Cheers to Maine beer!

There is a complex series of coordination that, after the making, goes into the packaging, transport and care of fresh beer. These essential, but often invisible efforts of brewery artistry and science contribute to the results of perfectly poured pints all across the beer drinking world. Here in Maine, on Sunday, June 30th from 1-3p our friends Goodfire Brewing Co. have crafted a truly unique event to celebrate the too often unsung labors of canning, kegging, and transport at their Portland Tasting Room. To which we are excited to introduce a new brewing industry competition, the first of its kind : Goodfire's 1st Annual PALLET PAGEANT. Goodfire is calling for all breweries, cideries, distilleries, wineries (+ craft beverage related companies) to participate in a friendly showcase of the industry's best palletized work in 2 categories: • "The Perfect Pallet" -- all about clean + crisp dimensions ready to be shipped down the street or across the country to a favorite restaurant, bar, or beer hall • "The Creative Pallet" -- more parade float than function, an ode to the brewers creativity flowing freely to dazzle fellow brewers and spectators alike with endless ingenuity. Admission is open to all, participation is free to breweries (et all)-- please express your interest in competing by emailing lea@goodfirebrewing.com, there will be food and drink, and a portion of beer proceeds from the day will directly benefit the Maine Brewers' Guild! #mainebeer #mainebrewing #mainebrewersguild #cellarmaster #cellaring #canningday

Maine beer, Maine farms: working with family owned and operated agriculture across Maine to source the finest local ingredients helps us to make the best beer possible. Our community of growers, planters, maltsters, and harvesters are absolutely essential to our character and the irreplaceable flavors of our go to styles. From Maine Malt House, and their dedicated 1,222 (that's more than 900 football fields) of grain acreage, to Blue Ox Malthouse working at 100% solar electric power-- this Earth Day we are particularly appreciative of the hard work and immense efforts that these local producers contribute all year long. #mainebreweries #mainebrewers
