About us
The mission of the Maine Association of Nonprofits (MANP) is to enrich the quality of community and personal life in Maine by strengthening the leadership, voice, and organizational effectiveness of our state’s vital nonprofits. Advancing: MANP serves as a strong voice for the sector, researching, defending and promoting the sector’s impact in Maine, and empowering our members to do so as well. We develop and deliver training and resources to staff and volunteers of nonprofits across the state so that they can legally and effectively lobby on behalf of issues important to their missions. Connecting: MANP strives to create a vibrant community of nonprofits representing different regions, mission areas, and sizes. We connect leaders to one another and help organizations find and develop new talent. We facilitate connections across sectors, and convene nonprofit leaders to discuss critical issues facing the sector. Strengthening: MANP fosters a skilled, efficient and innovative sector. We provide guidance on management best practices and legal compliance, and offer high-quality trainings, resources and tools that enhance organizational governance and the recruitment, retention and professional development of nonprofit employees. We work to build the capacity of the sector to develop their existing and emerging leaders.

Through March 7th, you can raise your voice through the Nonprofit Finance Fund’s State of the Nonprofit Sector Survey. One of the largest of its kind, the survey collects data about US nonprofits’ health and challenges and formulates them into an accessible, evidence-based illustration of how the nonprofit sector is faring. It’s a powerful platform for nonprofits large and small, across sub-sectors and geographies. Data is used to advocate for the investments needed to secure nonprofits’ long-term resilience, ultimately supporting the communities we all care for and serve. We are proud to help NFF raise our sector’s voices. Please take the #NFFSurvey and ensure your organization is heard. It will take only about 25-35 minutes and will be a valuable contribution to this important effort https://lnkd.in/g6XWqhvT

As federal funding grows increasingly volatile, the nonprofit sector faces a critical choice: fall back on the donor-centrism of the past or balance power dynamics to safeguard the integrity of our missions. Through case studies and actionable insights, participants will explore fundraising disciplines that foster open dialogue, build authentic partnerships, and redefine fundraising for a stronger, more equitable future.
