Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Every eligible child needs a wish!

About us

Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted hundreds of thousands of transformative wish experiences worldwide. Our organization’s vision is to grant the heartfelt wish of every eligible child battling critical illness. Here across North Texas, we are working to make this a reality in the 161 counties we serve. Wishes are catalysts for hope -- profoundly effective in fueling a child’s drive to defy the odds and push toward tomorrow. Medical research reveals physical and emotional benefits that can give children with critical illnesses a higher chance of survival. When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. Families are unified and entire communities are enriched -- the positive impact is boundless. Right now, wishes are waiting! Across our chapter, referrals are at an all-time high and funding determines the rate at which we are able to grant wishes. Your gift of time or money is crucial to close the gap between the number of wishes Make-A-Wish is able to grant and the number we need to grant. It is because of generous donors, dedicated volunteers and valuable partners in the medical community that each wish becomes a reality. Every eligible child needs a wish to count on!

On the anniversary of 9/11, we’re reflecting on wishes like Johnny’s that honor the brave first responders who valiantly fought to save lives on that day. “I now have the hope where I can actually do law enforcement, and if I can’t, then I can do something else with it,” Johnny said. Action-packed highlights from Johnny’s wish to be a law enforcement officer included: riding with a state trooper, running drills, visiting the FBI and K-9 training. Johnny was joined by Linda Pauling, whose son Chris’ wish to be a police officer inspired the founding of Make-A-Wish. Read Johnny’s full story at the link in bio. @MakeAWishAmerica @makeawishohkyin

We’re checking out wish kid Quinn’s book for #NationalReadABookDay. “It was priceless to see Quinn get that book in her hands for the first time, to recognize her face in every single illustration and know that it was made just for her.” – Daniel, Quinn’s dad. Four-year-old Quinn’s favorite thing in the world is books. While she was isolated for leukemia treatments, Quinn also watched monster videos and loved thinking about her favorite holiday, Halloween. She wished to have a monster storybook written about her to share with everyone who helped her survive cancer. “We’re very grateful and lucky to be here and to have her as our miracle,” said Quinn’s mom, Lisa. Author and illustrator Fred Koehler gathered submissions from fellow creatives to create “Quinn’s Monsters,” and our friends at @thelearningexperience hosted an unforgettable book reveal party. Quinn continues to find joy in her wish as she reads her book with everyone, including her medical team. “This wish means everything. The fact that she can be a normal kid again is just the greatest feeling in the world,” Daniel said. As we kick off #ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth, YOU can create the turning point wish kids like Pua need in their treatment and recovery. A devastating cancer diagnosis brought Pua’s world to a stop. Her wish for videography equipment gave her a reason to feel hopeful again and empowered her to recapture her dream of becoming a videographer. “Her wish gave her joy and drive … She is able to push through her nausea because she wants to finish her edits and audio. This is a life-changing and life-energizing experience.” – Ellen, Pua’s mom For every wish we grant, two kids are waiting and urgently need your support. Can you join us with a gift today?
