Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
About us
Make-A-Wish Oregon grants the wishes of children with critical illnesses to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. We serve children ages 2 1/2 to 18 who live in Oregon and Clark County, Washington. In fiscal year 2023, we are on track to grant 270 wishes to local children. Studies show that a wish improves the quality of life for children. A Wish Impact Study conducted by TCC Group from 2010 through 2011 found that wish experiences benefit children’s health, both in the short and long-term. According to the study: • 89% of health care professionals surveyed say they believe that the wish experience can influence wish kids’ physical health. • 91% of parents observed that the wish experience increased their child’s emotional health. • 81% of parents observed an increased willingness by their wish kids to comply with treatment protocols.

“I want to help other kids going through hard times.” – Wish Alum Indie, 7 After cancer treatment, Indie said her wish to visit the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique brought her a very good place she dreamed of for two years. She says being with her family and feeling so happy showed her that fighting cancer gives her power. That’s why she rallied her school and several local businesses to raise funds for more local, life-changing wishes like hers. 💙 This Make A Difference Day, we see the incredible impact our community has on the lives of wish kids and their families. You can make an impact just like Indie. Find out how at Oregon.wish.org

⭐️ WISH GRANTED!⭐️ Caden just returned from an off-roading, sun-soaking, high-flying adventure. 🏝️ The local 9-year-old cancer fighter wished to go to Hawaii where he could enjoy nature with his family. While in paradise, Caden’s wish allowed him to escape the weight of his diagnosis and focus on joy. Thank you to the wish community that continues to make smiles like these possible! 😊 #WishGranted #MakeAWish #MakeAWishOregon #ORWish

This is the moment no one saw coming at Wish Ball and proves extraordinary things happen when you’re making wishes come true! Emilian shared his incredible story of perseverance with the crowd in the ballroom, including his true love of flying. ✈️☁️ He collects & cherishes wings from each flight. Alaska Airlines VP of Flight Operations and former Make-A-Wish Oregon Board Member, Dave Mets, was so moved. He decided to give Emilian the wings he just received for serving with Alaska Airlines for 25 years! 🥹 The President of Horizon Air and Make-A-Wish Board Member, Jason Berry, shared a special gift as well! 😊 He sent Emilian home with his own personal set of wings and a huge smile. We are beyond grateful to know such big-hearted people and see the incredible joy those coming together in the wish community can bring. 💙

When asked what they’ll remember most about his wish, Nathan and his family said, “the generosity and kindness of everyone involved.” 😊 Nathan wished to go to the Pokemon World Championship and his wish came true almost exactly a year after his leukemia diagnosis. The wish allowed him to replace a very difficult memory with a very happy one. 💙 Nathan says the opening ceremony was unforgettable, as was the kindness he encountered during the entire experience. #WishGranted #MakeAWish #MakeAWishOregon #ORWish
