This was one of our signature projects, where the owner fully recognized the value of an Early Contractor Involvement. Working with the entire design team for over 2 years, we ensured the safe design and installation of a deep and very long excavation for the pictured 5 digester structures right next next to a RR line by proposing a 150 feet deep D-Wall. The Auger-Cast Piles (we call them CFA Piles) provided a fast and cost-effective alternative to the typical Drilled Shafts needed as support for the various mechanical buildings. We still remember this exciting project and are happy to see it near its completion.
We’re honored to support the SFPUC Biosolids Digester Facilities Project in San Francisco. This project upgrades the aging solids treatment facilities, producing higher quality “Class A” biosolids, enhancing odor control, and increasing resiliency against sea level rise and earthquakes. ENGEO provided geotechnical engineering services, tackling complex subsurface conditions and seismic challenges. One of the key recommendations included a 150-foot-deep slurry diaphragm shoring wall, over 700 large diameter auger-cast piles, and over 500 micropiles to ensure stability and safety. We couldn’t be happier to announce that Metro Vancouver’s Second Narrows Water Supply Tunnel has been recognized as the 2024 Canadian Project of the Year (Under $300 Million) by the Tunneling Association of Canada! This critical infrastructure project, located just beneath the Burrard Inlet, enhances earthquake resilience and replaces aging water mains vital to the community. With the collaborative efforts of our excellent team at Malcolm Drilling, alongside our partners Petrifond, Traylor-Aecon, the owner, Metro Vancouver and the project team, we’re honored to contribute to such an impactful project that will ensure reliable drinking water for 2.8 million residents. #MalcolmDrilling #ProjectOfTheYear #Infrastructure #WaterSupply #looktotheblue #CommunityFirst TUNNELLING ASSOCIATION OF CANADA
