About us
Management Sciences for Health (MSH) works shoulder-to-shoulder with countries and communities to save lives and improve the health of the world’s poorest and most vulnerable people by building strong, resilient, sustainable health systems. Together, we seek to achieve universal health coverage—equitable, affordable access to high-quality health services for all who need them—even in fragile, post-crisis settings. For 50 years across 150 countries, MSH has partnered with governments, civil society, the private sector, and thousands of health workers on locally-led solutions that expand access to medicines and services, improve quality of care, help prevent and control epidemics, support inspiring leadership and transparent governance, and foster informed, empowered, and healthier communities. “This meeting provided insight that countries, despite their differences, face similar challenges in establishing government-led contracting. It is a great opportunity to learn from one another.” That was the message from one of the participants at the Collaborative on Contracting Organizations for Health-Related Services, an in-person gathering of health sector leaders from 10 countries in Delhi, India, over September 30 to October 2. The year-long collaborative focuses on government-led contracting with NGOs and the for-profit private sector for select health services, using a country’s own procurement system and domestic funds, to leverage non-public sector efficiencies in their health system. It is led by HS4TB in partnership with the Joint Learning Network for Universal Health Coverage. Management Sciences for Health. #EndTB.

This year’s United Nations General Assembly made it clear that #leadership at all levels is essential to drive #globalhealth progress. From high-level discussions on #AntimicrobialResistance to side events on #reproductivehealth and #frontlinehealthworkers, MSH President and CEO Marian Wentworth saw three key themes emerge: 1️⃣ #GlobalLeadership Signals #Commitment: Despite rising nationalism, world leaders reaffirmed their commitment to global health, with 193 countries adopting a political declaration on #AMR. 2️⃣ #LocalLeadership Steers #Progress: Many African leaders emphasized the need for local institutions to lead in health, from research to medicine production—critical for long-term #sustainability. 3️⃣ #TechnicalLeadership Solves #Challenges: On-the-ground implementers and practitioners are key to turning obstacles into solutions, as highlighted during MSH’s #UNGA79 event on AMR. #DYK? Ukraine is making significant strides in modernizing its regulatory frameworks to align with European standards. Deputy Minister of Health for European Integration, Maryna Slobodnichenko talked to us about a new vision for #pharmaceuticalregulation in #Ukraine. The establishment of a united medicine regulatory body is a major step forward which will enhance #transparency and ensure that patients across the country have access to high-quality, safe, and effective medical products. This effort is a critical milestone in improving public health and patient care, underscoring Ukraine's commitment to fostering a more resilient and accountable healthcare system, even amidst the challenges of war. In this short clip, Deputy Minister Slobodnichenko explains what Ukraine has set out to accomplish. Enrollment in Cameroon’s #UniversalHealthCoverage (UHC) program recently surpassed 1.5 million, a key milestone that marks significant progress in the country’s journey to improve #HealthEquity by expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare for all. Despite that achievement, approximately 70% of health services are still paid out-of-pocket, a cost burden that remains a serious barrier to care for many Cameroonians, especially those in marginalized communities, including people living with #HIV. The USAID- and PEPFAR-funded Reaching Impact, Saturation, and Epidemic Control (RISE) project, led by MSH, is partnering with the Ministry of Public Health to implement #UHC initiatives that reduce healthcare costs and increase access to essential services—including #HIV testing and treatment—nationwide. https://lnkd.in/ex9bYrVq Sarah Konopka Timothé Chevaux Pauline Adams Mackenzie Allen Heather Freitag Jennifer Gardella Tori Spivey Edith Michele TEMGOUA SAOUNDE Roselyne TobyFrancine Obama Mengue Samuel Daniel Dissak Delon, MSc Waibale Paul EMTOM Sepde
