What an amazing week we had last week with Mandala Space Ventures at the SoCal UK Space Accelerator! 🚀🚀 Impressive to see the richness of the SoCal space ecosystem, with a tremendous amount of activity and some great, knowledgeable people.  Super interesting visits to VAST, Rocket Lab, The Aerospace Corporation and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. I had the incredible opportunity to join Mandala Space Ventures and the UK Space Agency at THE BR-DGE in El Segundo last Friday for a day filled with groundbreaking innovations and inspiring insights into the future of the space industry. The highlight? Hearing firsthand from the game-changing UK companies in Mandala’s accelerator cohort. These teams are driving forward the space industry with remarkable talent and ambition, showcasing everything from cutting-edge tech to transformative ideas that push the boundaries of space tech. The session dove into trends, challenges, and opportunities in this dynamic field, highlighting the importance of partnerships that bridge countries and industries. 🌍 I’m thrilled to keep learning more about the international collaboration across ecosystems that builds the space economy, and I look forward to more days like this—meeting key players driving global progress, innovative tech, and a bold future in space! In both the UK and the USA, the aerospace industry has taken off🚀. Our Consulate’s Business and Trade team has partnered with Mandala Space Ventures with sponsorship by UK Space Agency for the first ever SoCal-UK Space Accelerator programme, hosting nine UK space start-ups in LA- a leading city in space technology and innovation. As part of the programme, Consul General Paul Rennie, OBE, Director of Trade Olivia Gray-Rodgers, and Mandala organised a reception for the UK start-ups at the Consul General’s residence and joined them on a tour and presentation of two key locally headquartered aerospace companies, VAST and Rocket Lab. A special thanks to Leon Alkalai, CEO of Mandala Space Ventures, Richard French, Vice President of Business Development and Strategy, Space Systems at Rocket Lab, as well as David Caponio, Senior Vice President of Product and Business Development at Vast, and Tristan Prejean, Associate Director of Business Development at Vast.
