About us

Mansfield Hall supports young adults attending college and transitioning to independence. We are a comprehensive residential program that is individualized and flexible based on student needs. We serve students who have learning disabilities, mild autism, Asperger’s syndrome, nonverbal learning disabilities, ADHD, executive functioning impairments, or other students with unique characteristics that may pose challenges in the transition to college life. We are much more than just a college support program. Our goal is to provide necessary skills training in all areas of adaptive functioning so our students can flourish academically, socially, vocationally, and emotionally. While learning at the local colleges, living in a supported and integrated environment, giving to others, and engaging in the community, we believe that our students will be better prepared for, and more successful in, today’s world. Our residences are located in the Burlington, Vermont, Madison, Wisconsin, and Eugene, Oregon, where there are many options for engaging in school and life beyond the classroom. We invite you to come visit us, explore, and realize your own possibilities. More information is available by contacting us at (802) 870-0862 or by visiting www.mansfieldhall.org

🌽 Nothing says fall fun like getting lost in a corn maze! This week, our students took on the challenge of navigating the twists and turns, with plenty of laughs along the way. And the goats? They were a huge hit! 🐐 Their playful antics added even more joy to the outing.   From problem-solving in the maze to hanging out with some friendly animals, it was a day packed with fun and community connection. We capped it off with warm cider and a cozy fall vibe! 🍂   Each year, a brand new maze design is carved into the field in mid-July by Shawn Stolworthy of MazePlay, who cuts more than 80 mazes across the U.S. and Canada using GPS technology. It takes just about three hours to complete, sometimes even after dark! This maze at Mazza Farms is one of only three in New England, making it a special destination for our students.   And let’s not forget—while the maze was a challenge, the goats stole the show, adding some extra joy to an already awesome day! 🐐🌾   #CornMazeAdventure #FallFun #MansfieldHall #GoatLove #MazePlay #FallActivities #StudentLife #NewEnglandFun

Our students took a spine-chilling trip to Nightmare Vermont—a Halloween event like no other! 👻 Combining live theater, immersive scares, and stunning special effects, it was a thrilling night with a cause.   What makes Nightmare Vermont even more special? It’s an all-volunteer event committed to giving back to the community. From supporting local charities like Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity to donating thousands to maintain the Champlain Valley Expo, they’re making a real impact. 🎃💀   We loved being part of an event that not only scares but also cares. What’s your favorite way to give back during spooky season?   #NightmareVermont #HalloweenAdventures #CommunitySupport #GivingBack #MansfieldHall #SpookyWithAPurpose

Mansfield Hall is proud to utilize restorative justice as a model for building community and repairing harm at Mansfield Hall. Restorative Justice practices center the community and conflicts around how to build interdependent, healthy, and affirming relationships and how to repair relationships when harm occurs, learn from our mistakes, and build deeper empathy toward one another. These practices are at the heart of the Social Emotional Learning imbedded in our programming and community and creating an inclusive and safe learning environment for staff and students.    Please join our President, Jasmine Lamb, for this national webinar this Friday focused on the intersection of Restorative Justice, Neurodiversity, and Mental Health. We had an incredible candidate list this year for the two Community Ambassador positions, thank you to all who applied.    These two students have shown their commitment to personal growth, have gracefully navigated challenges and demonstrated a willingness to accept help and feedback. These qualities, paired with an unwavering commitment to this community, make them excellent student leaders for this year. #CommunityAmbassador #CollegeLife #MansfieldHall #StudentLeadership #Growth #WeAreTheHall #Leadership

I presented* at the College Autism Summit, and wow did I have an amazing experience. It was great presenting with Jasmine about key tools, takeaways, and recommendations for creating neurodiversity-affirming study abroad experiences. It has been SO recharging meeting this network of college students and professionals that are leading disability programs, policies, and advocacy across the nation. Thank you, College Autism Network, for hosting this great conference. Lastly, I want to give a shout-out to Bennett, one of Mansfield Hall’s Community Ambassadors and the deserving recipient of the College Autism Summit’s Student Scholarship. I can’t think of anyone more worthy of this award.

💬 Community meeting time!   Every week, students at each of our locations and staff gather to catch up on all things happening in the Hall—from exciting updates and upcoming events to sharing some fun news!    Plus, this meeting was complete with a little treat, so we enjoyed some popsicles to keep things cool. 🍧   Our community meetings are a chance to come together, stay informed, and, of course, have a bit of fun!   #CommunityFirst #MansfieldHall #StudentLife #Teamwork #PopcicleFun
