🌽 Nothing says fall fun like getting lost in a corn maze! This week, our students took on the challenge of navigating the twists and turns, with plenty of laughs along the way. And the goats? They were a huge hit! 🐐 Their playful antics added even more joy to the outing.   From problem-solving in the maze to hanging out with some friendly animals, it was a day packed with fun and community connection. We capped it off with warm cider and a cozy fall vibe! 🍂   Each year, a brand new maze design is carved into the field in mid-July by Shawn Stolworthy of MazePlay, who cuts more than 80 mazes across the U.S. and Canada using GPS technology. It takes just about three hours to complete, sometimes even after dark! Our students took a spine-chilling trip to Nightmare Vermont—a Halloween event like no other! 👻 Combining live theater, immersive scares, and stunning special effects, it was a thrilling night with a cause.   What makes Nightmare Vermont even more special? It’s an all-volunteer event committed to giving back to the community. From supporting local charities like Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity to donating thousands to maintain the Champlain Valley Expo, they’re making a real impact. 🎃💀   We loved being part of an event that not only scares but also cares. Mansfield Hall is proud to utilize restorative justice as a model for building community and repairing harm at Mansfield Hall. Restorative Justice practices center the community and conflicts around how to build interdependent, healthy, and affirming relationships and how to repair relationships when harm occurs, learn from our mistakes, and build deeper empathy toward one another. I presented* at the College Autism Summit, and wow did I have an amazing experience. It was great presenting with Jasmine about key tools, takeaways, and recommendations for creating neurodiversity-affirming study abroad experiences. It has been SO recharging meeting this network of college students and professionals that are leading disability programs, policies, and advocacy across the nation. Thank you, College Autism Network, for hosting this great conference. Lastly, I want to give a shout-out to Bennett, one of Mansfield Hall’s Community Ambassadors and the deserving recipient of the College Autism Summit’s Student Scholarship. I can’t think of anyone more worthy of this award.
