Researchers estimated that improving sleep could significantly reduce the population burden of depression by 2.4% to 5.9% and anxiety by 3.4% to 8.0% across the assessed time points. Through MIECHV, home visitors—like nurses and social workers—support families on topics such as maternal mental health, infant care, and school readiness. March for Moms believes all families should have access to MIECHV. Home visitors play a crucial role in screening for mental health challenges and connecting parents with resources. **News | Counselors from the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline Invited to the White House** This summer, counselors from the Hotline met with officials from the Office of the Vice President and Carole Johnson, HRSA Administrator. Counselors emphasized that the Hotline is more than just a resource—it's a lifeline for those struggling with maternal mental health. Since launching on Mother’s Day 2022, the Hotline (1-833-TLC-MAMA) has supported over 40,000 individuals, providing free, confidential, 24/7 voice and text services in multiple languages. QUICK ACTION: Ensure that Congress addresses maternal mental health this week! A bill in Congress to support mental health for military mothers called The Maintaining our Obligation to Moms who Serve Act (also referred to as The MOMS Act) would bring maternal mental health programs into the military healthcare system. The MOMS Act was included in the final House version of a larger bill, called the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). However, The MOMS Act was NOT included in the Senate version of the NDAA. We must urge our Senators to include The MOMS Act in the final NDAA, otherwise we will miss the opportunity to include maternal mental health programs into the military healthcare system! Every American knows that we pay too much for health care, but many don’t know WHY. We must address corporate greed, driven by #consolidation and #pricegouging among big hospital and pharmaceutical corporations!
