  • It’s World Doula Day! Doulas are trained professionals who provide invaluable support throughout the pregnancy journey. From reducing stress and improving birth outcomes to offering emotional support during labor and delivery, doulas play a key role in ensuring a positive pregnancy and postpartum experience. They are also sensitive to and respectful of different cultures, making sure families feel understood and respected at every stage. During her pregnancy, Robin Jackson received doula support from Houston doula Dallyda Tachi-Banda. Robin’s story is a powerful reminder that the support you receive before, during, and after birth can make a world of difference. To learn more about the impact of doula support, visit marchofdimes.org/doulas #worlddouladay #doula #birthsupport #ItStartsWithMom

  • Today is World Down Syndrome Day and we are honored to share Sloane's story.💜 Born with a rare heart defect linked to Down syndrome, Sloane faced major challenges the first few months of her life. Fast forward to today and she is a happy and joyful three-year-old! Sloane and her family are also the Permian Basin Mission Family this year for March for Babies in West Texas! Down syndrome, or trisomy 21, occurs when there’s an extra copy of chromosome 21. It’s the most common chromosomal condition in the U.S., affecting about 1 in 700 babies. Many children, like Sloane, grow up to live happy, fulfilling lives! Learn more about birth defects by visiting https://lnkd.in/eXmv_GS7. #birthdefects #congenitialconditions #worlddownsyndromeday
