    President, Marine Reconnaissance Foundation

Action not words. Our incredible all volunteer team executed the Marine Reconnaissance Foundation’s 5th Annual Traumatically Wounded/Injured Teammate & Family Retreat (7-12 October) in Destin Florida under our Line of Effort #1: Reoccurring Program Support. The retreat was one filled with brotherhood, friendship, love and compassion….something than many of us sometimes have a hard time embracing or providing. Teammates healing together, spouses bonding and children playing like they are siblings. Powerful. I could not be prouder of the great Americans that fill the MRF’s ranks. This all volunteer non compensated group of retired senior Recon Marines & Sailors both Staff Non Commissioned and Commissioned Officers as well as their families work tirelessly every day of the year to serve others, our community and the greater good. The Reconnaissance Foundation Board of Directors, Advisors and associated volunteers commit their precious time, resources and expertise to support some of our Nation’s finest warriors and their families. To those very few who live by our unofficial motto, “action, not words” you have our gratitude, love and respect. —————- LOE1: Deliberate Programs: Annual Wounded Teammate & Family Retreat The purpose of this retreat is to provide our teammates who suffer from physical, mental or spiritual wounds a venue to bring their families together in order to rebuild and/or reinforce family bonds and provide an opportunity for bonding with other Recon families in similar circumstances.
