For another year, MarineMax has proudly partnered with the American Cancer Society to promote cancer screening awareness and support the fight for a cure. On October 10 and 23, MarineMax joined the American Cancer Society in supporting their case to find a cure by wearing their best pink attire nationwide. Team Members went #PinkWithAPurpose to increase awareness, focus on cancer screenings, and encourage those who haven't been screened yet to do so. Research proves that early detection saves lives—and MarineMax is committed to their team members' and customers' health and wellness. Beth Ferguson Garland, SVP of People Strategy at MarineMax, comments, "We are honored to support this meaningful cause for another year. At MarineMax, the well-being of our team members is central to everything we do. Promoting a healthy lifestyle is a priority, and routine cancer screenings should be essential to that approach. Given the heightened sun exposure in the boating industry, the risk of skin cancers is even greater, making regular screenings all the more critical. As we proudly wore pink to raise breast cancer awareness, we encourage everyone to stay informed about the necessary screenings and consult with their healthcare providers to explore all options." Beth is a longstanding volunteer and is currently on the Southwest Florida Area Board of Directors for the American Cancer Society Southeast Region. According to the Breast Cancer Fact & Figures 2024-2025 report from the American Cancer Society, it is estimated that 310,720 people will be diagnosed with new cases of breast cancer in 2024, and 2,790 of those will occur in men. However, with early detection, lives can be saved. Over 75 MarineMax stores and partners, including Intrepid Powerboats, Cruisers Yachts, Northrop & Johnson, Fraser, IGY Marinas, Fairport, SYD, Newcoast, Boatzon, Boatyard and SkipperBud’s, participated in the #PinkWithAPurpose campaign. As a result, MarineMax donated 10,000 dollars directly and supported the annual Tampa Cattle Baron's Ball by donating a Charter trip to the auction. All proceeds from the auction and donation will go to the American Cancer Society to fund their mission of research, education, and patient and caregiver services. Read More: https://lnkd.in/eAgZM_im
