In 2016, Russo Marine joined MarineMax, further expanding the company’s reach and solidifying its position as a premier boating retailer. Since then, Russo has served as Senior Vice President at MarineMax, playing an integral role in the company’s industry relationships, growth, and success. “Larry’s contributions to MarineMax and the boating industry as a whole are immense,” said Brett McGill, CEO and President of MarineMax. “His leadership, mentorship, and passion for boating have inspired countless colleagues and customers alike. • Up next on our journey to celebrate Women’s History Month is Rachel Bigge, our Real Estate Portfolio Manager. What first drew you to the marine industry? The marine industry wasn’t initially part of my plan; however, my dad has always been in the industry, and we were always by the water when I was growing up. I was fortunate enough to have a great opportunity come my way to combine my love for water with a career. What is your favorite part of working in the marine industry? Being part of a team that enhances people's ability to have fun, enjoy friends, family, and the water. How do you hope to inspire other women in the marine industry? Just because you didn’t start out in the industry or grow up around the water doesn’t mean you can’t dive in—there’s always room to jump in and learn. Whether you’re new to the field or just transitioning, the marine industry is full of opportunities for growth, and with the right mindset, anyone can find their place. It’s never too late to make a splash and discover where your passion for the water can take you!

In honor of Women’s History Month, we are spotlighting today Kate Hogan, our Regional Marketing Coordinator in the Northeast. What first drew you to the marine industry? Growing up on Long Island, New York, I spent my summers immersed in life on and by the water. When I had the chance to build a career in an industry that would allow me to share that passion for water with others, I knew it was going to be a perfect fit. What is your favorite part of working in the marine industry? My favorite part of working in the marine industry is seeing the joy that boat ownership brings to our customers. Every smile – whether it's from a family leaving the marina on their new boat or someone joining us at our events, reminds me why I love what I do. How do you hope to inspire other women in the marine industry? I hope to inspire other women in the industry by demonstrating the power of a positive outlook and attitude. This industry is filled with incredible opportunities, but the key to truly enjoying it is embracing each day with enthusiasm. Challenges will come, but by focusing on the excitement, adventure, and connections we make along the way, every day can be the best day ever. I want to encourage other women to bring their passion, confidence, and joy to their work.
