Market Street Trust Company is a client-owned, industry-leading, shared family office dedicated to helping multigenerational families realize their long-term goals. Our headquarters and trust situs reside in Portsmouth, NH. Our heritage began in 1909 as a single-family office supporting the needs of the Houghton family, the founders of Corning Incorporated, in Corning, NY. By prioritizing people and leaning into innovation, we have evolved into a shared family office, setting a new standard for partnering with families. Market Street provides integrated wealth management services to approximately 45 family groups. Our services include financial planning and strategy, investment management, tax and compliance planning, risk and compliance management, philanthropic strategy and administration, and governance and education.

  • A very nice start to 2024 ... The S&P 500 closed the quarter at a record high, capping off a very strong 10.6% return for the first three months. Market returns broadened during February and March, a positive sign of confidence, with small cap stocks (Russell 2000) leading the way over the larger S&P 500 those two months.   • Protection of Assets: New Hampshire’s Trust Code provides additional advantages … In addition to adding further safeguards to the protection of trust assets from creditors, the New Hampshire Trust Code extends the availability of asset protection to all irrevocable trusts containing a spendthrift provision, allowing for self-settled asset protection trusts – trusts from which a settlor may receive benefits while still shielding the trust assets from creditors.
