🚨 FTC Announces Final "Click-to-Cancel" Rule The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has just unveiled its final "click-to-cancel" rule to update how consumers manage their subscriptions and recurring payments This regulation aims to simplify the cancellation process, making it as effortless as signing up. Key Highlights: ✅Easy Cancellation: Sellers must provide a straightforward mechanism for consumers to cancel subscriptions and halt charges immediately ✅Transparency: Clear disclosure of material terms is mandatory before obtaining billing information ✅Informed Consent: Explicit consent from consumers is required before charging for negative option features ✅Wide Application: The rule covers almost all negative option programs across various media ⌛Implementation Timeline: Most provisions will take effect 180 days after publication in the Federal Register ❓Impact on Businesses and Consumers: This rule addresses the growing concern of difficult-to-cancel subscriptions.
