As we look back on Marksmen’s 10-year journey, it’s been special to share our growth with those who’ve been part of it. Mark, Butch, and their families toured St. Johns, Fire Station 121, and took a drive past several other key projects—each a marker of how far we’ve come. Continuous training is essential to maintaining safety and precision on every job site. Recently, our field staff completed training on off-road forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts. Whether it's new hires learning for the first time or experienced staff sharpening their skills, this training ensures our team is always prepared.

I had the privilege of attending a banquet alongside our President & CEO and a couple of my Marksmen General Contractors ®️ co-workers in support of a faith-based school we've been partnering with. The keynote speaker, the creator of The Chosen, brought a powerful message, but what stood out to me most was reflecting on my journey with a company that not only holds faith-based values but lives them out daily through the work we pursue and the communities we support. I still remember my first day—taken to lunch by new coworkers, and before we ate, someone prayed over the meal. It was a refreshing moment that showed me right away this was more than just business—it’s a purpose-driven community.

From intern to part-time project engineer, Samantha Sanchez has been growing her skills while balancing school. She’s been spending time with the Estimating Team and shared how much she’s appreciated the support: “Marksmen has really made me feel welcome as a beginner to the industry. A special shoutout to Emilse for taking me under her wing and checking in on me, whether it’s my studies or my workload. One major thing I’ve learned is the importance of building relationships.”

Shoutout to Matthew Wendtland for stepping up and leading the weekly safety stand-down at the jobsite. He prepped the material, gathered the subs, led the meeting, and documented everything in Procore. It’s great to see team members taking initiative and using opportunities like these to grow while keeping the site running smoothly. His focus on communication and coordination around the jobsite reinforces how important it is for different teams to stay connected and aware of potential hazards.

Big thanks to the entire team for their incredible effort on Andy's Frozen Custard #3 in San Antonio. The progress looks fantastic, and we’re excited to see the shop open!

Congratulations to our DIAMOND ABC Safety Management Systems STEP Recipients. This is highest level of achievement and we applaud them for their leadership, commitment and dedication to safety and excellence. We will be celebrating all STEP recipients at the Excellence in Construction Gala on November 21st with a special ceremony this year. Our estimating team visited the field crew at the Andy’s project to get a closer look at the progress being made. It’s great to see the hard work of our field team in action, and the unique features, like the ice cream cone installation, are coming together. Congrats to the field team for keeping things on track.
