🍚 We’re honored to share that Ben’s Original has partnered with Walmart in support of Feeding America, the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the country, to help provide meals to people in need through the Walmart Fight Hunger. From March 1 to March 31, for every specially marked Ben’s Original product purchased at Walmart, Ben’s Original will donate the monetary equivalent of at least one meal to Feeding America. Along with Ben’s Original Mars is a long-time partner of Feeding America, working together to fight food insecurity and support communities across the country. ♻️We’ve been redesigning our packaging portfolio to reduce plastic packaging to ensure it can be reusable, recyclable or compostable. We’re proud to share that our pantry jars in the U.S. for M&M’S, SKITTLES and STARBURST brands now come in packaging made from 100% recycled content. This update not only furthers our sustainability efforts, but it eliminates more than 1,300 metric tons of virgin plastic per year! “In the world we want tomorrow, no packaging becomes waste, but is instead reused, recycled or composted,” said Allison Lin 林宜蓁 Global Vice President of Packaging Sustainability at Mars. “That’s why we continue to rethink our approach to packaging and collaborate with companies like Berry Global, Inc. Reducing our virgin plastic usage by investing in recycled content is an important step in our strategy, alongside initiatives to remove unnecessary packaging, explore reuse models and redesign our packaging for circularity." Led by our team at Waltham Petcare Science Institute, in collaboration with leading universities and organizations (including Calm, the mental health company), PAWS is set to become the largest study program of its kind. With insights from over 35,000 participants across more than 20 countries, PAWS aims to explore the role of pets in human wellbeing and how these relationships also impact pets. We’re building on decades of researching the mutual benefits of the human-animal bond and we will continue – as we believe that when we care for our pets, they, in turn, take care of us. 🐮We’re making even more moo’ves in dairy. Today, in collaboration with our longtime dairy supplier Fonterra, we're launching our Farmer Forward Program. Backed by an expected investment of $27m over the next five-years, this initiative aims to empower dairy farmers to embrace sustainable dairy practices through cash incentives and funding for tools and technology. The program is projected to cut our greenhouse gas emissions from dairy by 150,000+ metric tons by 2030 (against a 2015 baseline). That’s equivalent to removing more than 380 million miles from the road! Part of Moo’ving Dairy Forward, our sustainable dairy plan, the Farmer Forward Program gets us one step closer to our commitment to slash emissions by 50% by 2030 (against a 2015 baseline) and achieve Net Zero by 2050.
