Bringing New Life Through Housing, Economic Development, and Education
About us
The timing is right for a renaissance in the Martindale Brightwood community. "The area stands positioned for a new tomorrow on the shoulders of long-time residents and community organizations who have overtime successfully advocated for a new library, a new high school, and the repaving of the 25th Street corridor. The Martindale Brightwood community is committed to ensuring the community becomes a thriving community of empowerment, focusing first and foremost on our most underserved residents especially considering the COVID-19 pandemic." Martindale Brightwood Community Development Corporation (MBDCD) along with other neighborhood-based organizations and residents make up the Martindale-Brightwood OneVoice umbrella, and we support transformation through our vision and Quality of Life plan for a healthy, evolving, and flourishing community. In accordance with our Martindale Brightwood community Quality of Life Plan MBCDC has developed, enhanced, and delivered programs to address the problems of economic disinvestment, unemployment, crime, community tensions and the shortage of quality affordable housing. MBCDC is part of a collective effort with other local anchor institutions. We are streamlining our programs to match our strategic priorities - strengthen our internal operations, increase our capacity and be a major component in creating thriving neighborhoods in the Martindale Brightwood community. MBCDC continues to listen and engage stakeholders, established new collaborative partnerships, and enhanced our existing relationships. We achieved measurable outcomes because of new processes, trusted advisers, committed staff and concerned residents. MBCDC continues to create pathways to digital innovation for micro and small businesses. The ultimate outcome is creating a neighborhood environment that fosters family stability, economic growth, and a sense of pride for residents, local leadership and an empowering community.

Shoutout of gratitude to retired Cinnaire team member Fred Hash who made a generous grant to the Martindale Brightwood Community Development Corporation through his role on the American Communities Development Foundation board. The grant will support a multifamily affordable housing project in Ralston Hills, IN set to break ground in October. Fred is a former FHLBI leader who launched Cinnaire's Indiana Capital Fund for Housing in the early 2000s and his impact continues to resonate. Cinnaire's Keith Broadnax took part in the presentation of the grant. Thanks for continuing to champion our mission of advancing economic equity, Fred!
