What's better than a lunch between neighbors? The Woodleaf Quarry team recently hosted a First Responder Appreciation Day event for emergency responders in Rowan County — including the Woodleaf Fire Department (located across the street). More than 100 first responders came out for lunch, including representatives from the sheriff's department, fire departments and emergency services.

Our East Ready Mix team is celebrating two milestone anniversaries! Darrell Box joined the team on June 11, 1999. In the 25 years since, he has proven to be a valuable, dependable driver and trainer. For 15 years, Jimmy Ball has been a dedicated teammate. He has served both as a driver and a backup plant operator. Thank you both for your hard work and years of service!

Yesterday, we celebrated 30 years as a publicly traded company with a virtual event streamed to every one of our locations. There's nothing like graduating from your blue hard hat to your white hard hat. This change represents finishing your first year on the Martin Marietta team. These pictures come from District Sales Manager Matt Mann, one of our most recent team members to switch to the white hard hat. According to him, this past year has been one of his favorites across his entire career. "I feel very grateful to be given the opportunity to serve not only our sales team but our overall operations. I am very humbled by the group of professionals I’ve worked with both internally and externally," he said.

We're proud to be the title sponsor for Raleigh's hometown race, benefiting the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. The Martin Marietta City of Oaks Marathon will take place Nov. 3, 2024. This year, runners will make their way through a new course, passing by the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts along the way. There will also be a half-marathon, 10K race and 5K race.
