Happy #HispanicHeritageMonth! The Mass League was honored and excited to host Edward Rocha, founder and CEO of Rola Corporation, a language school based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, last week as part of our celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, where he spoke with our staff on how to leverage culture and language to advance your career. Rocha has written a bilingual children’s book series that promotes language learning and highlights life for Latinos in rural America. As an Elected Director for the Harvard Alumni Association, he has focused on advocating for greater alumni engagement, particularly among people of color. Edward was born and raised in rural Texas and is of Mexican descent.

Mass League President & CEO Michael Curry and Middlesex Sheriff's Office Sheriff Peter Koutoujian highlight the importance of ensuring continuity of care for people leaving correctional custody and reentering public life as HRSA invests more than $50M to provide returning citizens with a medical home. “Efforts like this aren’t just good for public health, they’re good for public safety, families, and communities,” wrote Curry and Koutoujian. “When treatment needs go unmet, it leads to more complex and expensive health care and to greater recidivism. People should be able to access the care they need, in the communities where they live. When they do, they, their families and communities can thrive.” #healthcare #primaryhealth #communityhealthcenters #returningcitizens https://lnkd.in/eHnsjp-k
