This is a huge achievement and milestone for Orbit Fab. In-Space servicing has become one of the hottest and most interesting sectors in the "new space" realm due to how critical price/performance is for mission viability. Everyone from legacy prime contractors to small startups are claiming that refuelling is going to be part of their offering. From what we have seen publicly, none of other concepts are close to where OrbitFab is w.r.t proven performance, cost, and functionality. We believe RAFTI can become an industry standard technology that many service providers can adopt vs re-inventing the wheel. The entire space economy benefits when standards are adopted vs in-fighting with proprietary ideas that don't work. Huge congrats to the Orbit Fab team on achieving this approval and milestone. If Space Force trusts RAFTI for refuelling defense satellites, than commercial projects should feel great about adopting the same standards.

An entire ecosystem has to be rebuilt along with it, and that takes an entire supply chain also. Here is 5 minutes of humanity to brighten your day. Worth watching if you are feeling sad or despondent about the world we are living in right now. A little empathy goes such a long way. Touching story about a young mother dealing with the realities of life and financial stress. Immediately made me think of our portfolio company Beem which helps people with life's financial emergencies and empowerment to break this cycle that plagues too many people. Did you know that most banks, fintechs, etc only serve the top 20-30% of the market? What about everyone else? Great keynote by Brad van Leeuwen of Cledara on the "State of SaaS" today. The company has a unique and comprehensive data set on #saas spend and Brad walked thru a number of key insights about the market. A few big take-aways that may be useful... 1. SaaS spend always goes up - the stacks companies use keep growing 2. The US market cut burn, then re-invested faster than the EU market through the pandemic and during this "VC winter" cycle - (not a surprise to me) but has largely leveled out. 3. Only 7% of SaaS spend in in 2023 was net-new software. Renewals are 93%. So if you are a vendor trying to win new business...let that sink in. Want to see the full presentation?
