We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of Xerxes' newest manufacturing facility in #Blythewood, South Carolina! On August 27th, we celebrated this incredible milestone alongside the local community, with a special thank you to Jeff Ruble, Director of the Richland County Economic Development Office for helping introduce Xerxes to the capital county. This is an exciting new chapter in our journey, expanding Xerxes’ capabilities as we continue to manufacture industry-leading fiberglass underground storage tanks. #Xerxes and #Flexpipe, both part of Mattr’s Composite Technologies segment, have launched new facilities this summer, marking a significant accoplishment. Martin N. Perez, Group President of Mattr’s Composite Technologies, shared: “I am pleased by our teams’ ability to execute these major growth capital programs on time and on budget, all while continuing to meet existing production commitments. These new facilities will enable us to keep up with the growing demand for our products and to serve our customers even more efficiently." In addition to the new facility in Blythewood, we’ve made significant investments in modernization, expansion, and optimization across the Composite Technologies segment. These include a fully automated #stormwater chamber production line at our #Rockwall, Texas facility, expanded production capacity at our Edmonton site, and the modernization of our Xerxes facility in Seguin, #Texas. Together, these enhancements will boost our overall output and drive greater efficiency across our operations. Our Composite Technologies segment, Xerxes and Flexpipe, hit a new record with $153M in Q2 revenue, up from $150 million in the same quarter last year! Following the quarter, we're proud to share that production has commenced at our new #Flexpipe facility in Rockwall, #Texas, and our new #Xerxes facility in Blythewood, #SouthCarolina. These sites are part of our ongoing investment in North America, where we’re on-time and on-budget. As President and CEO Mike Reeves noted, “Our Composite Technologies segment emerged from its early-year seasonal lows to deliver a robust step-up in revenue and Adjusted EBITDA during the second quarter of 2024. Within the segment, our Xerxes business saw fuel tank shipments to customer sites rise by over 35% when compared to the prior year period, as customers demonstrated their ability to better navigate underlying permitting delay challenges. In parallel, our Flexpipe business out-performed North American rig count trends, setting a new quarterly revenue record despite an 18.5% year-over-year decline in US land drilling #rigcount." The Connection Technologies segment (Shawflex and DSG-Canusa) delivered second quarter revenue substantially similar to the same quarter of 2023, with continued market share gains in key industrial and infrastructure sectors, primarily within the segment’s North America and Europe, Middle East & Africa (“EMEA”) regions, largely offsetting the unfavourable impact of elevated interest rates which contributed to continued weakness in the Canadian distributor ‘stock’ market, and the absence of a large aerospace order which contributed to the prior year’s revenue. Additional highlights: ▶ North American production footprint modernization, expansion and optimization projects continue on time and on budget ▶ Currently anticipate modest sequential revenue rise in Q3- 24 as distributor demand for ‘stock’ products moves up & project sequencing lowers nuclear/infrastructure revenue during quarter ▶ Margin mix resulting from expected Q3-24 revenue sources, combined with significant expected MEO spend, drives Q3-24 Adj EBITDA outlook lower sequentially We remain focused on cultivating strategically aligned, accretive acquisition opportunities to fuel our long-term growth. Summer brings increased risks due to heat hazards, and it's crucial to take steps to protect yourself from heat stress, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke. We got to hear some great tips and perspectives from Steven Gouthro, VP, Sales and Operations about his experience on preventing #heatstress. Check out the full length video on #YouTube here: https://lnkd.in/gwGxC_hp Here are some key tips to stay safe: ▶ Listen to Your Body Early: Take frequent breaks in shaded areas, cool off for at least 10 minutes, drink water, and have a salty snack like nuts or an energy bar. ▶ Dress Smart: Wear lightweight clothing/coveralls and ventilated shoes to help your body stay cool. ▶ Watch What You Drink: Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and sugary beverages before, during, and after being in the heat, as they can dehydrate you. ▶ Ease into the Heat: Take it easy during the hottest parts of the day, especially at the beginning of summer as your body needs time to acclimate. Remember, no one is immune to heat stress, so always do a risk assessment before starting your shift. Stay hydrated, stay cool, and most importantly, stay safe!
