Introducing our SAMPLR robotic arm, developed for #NASA's Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) program to explore the lunar surface! We designed and built this arm with a plug-and-play system integrating #avionics and flight software for variable robotic autonomy. Operated by Maxar Space Robotics, SAMPLR utilizes a ROS-enabled operations suite with terrain reconstruction for rapid operations planning. As the first U.S. robotic arm planned to be on the #Moon in over 50 years, we proudly share that SAMPLR is fully qualified and ready for flight! #space #Aerospace #SpaceTech #Robotics

Sunday, Oct. 13 marks the one-year launch anniversary of NASA’s #MissiontoPsyche spacecraft! For NASA's Mission To Psyche, Maxar Space Systems provided a customized Solar Electric Propulsion (SEP) chassis based on the Maxar 1300™ series. Psyche is powered by Hall thrusters adapted for deep space exploration. Maxar Space Systems has decades of proven experience using Hall thrusters, but Psyche’s electric propulsion system, customized with the help of NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, is the first to use them past lunar orbit. The spacecraft is now 2.5 AU from the sun (AU is the astronomical unit, which is 149,597,870,700 m), with 5 years left in its journey toward the asteroid belt, where it will complete its mission of studying the metal-rich asteroid Psyche.

Earlier this year, a satellite well beyond its contract life faced a significant anomaly, and many believed it was lost for good. But thanks to our team's perseverance, we successfully transferred it to an orbit 360km above the GEO arc, fully compliant with international guidelines! What made this months-long, painstaking recovery possible? Creative solutions far outside the framework of typical anomaly responses, precise engineering documentation, spacecraft simulation capabilities, and unmatched expertise in generating flight software patches! We're pleased to mention that all critical bus components remained fully operational despite harsh thermal conditions. #satellite #creativity #aerospace #spacetech

Check out #NASA's Psyche spacecraft, traveling at 15.4 km/s toward a metal-rich asteroid to help scientists understand how planets like #Earth formed. But where is it now? Psyche is now approximately 523M km from Earth. You can track it here: https://lnkd.in/gGRH2t7d To support this mission, our team provided solar electric propulsion technology, delivering an efficient and cost-effective way to power the spacecraft as it travels through #DeepSpace.
