John Thorpe conducted owner’s training at our recently completed Horizontal Fire Door for the #SavannahConventionCenter. This McKeon Door of DC, Inc. model H250 is unique as it protects a large opening in the floor from fire, but also curves over the convention center’s giant escalator handrails to seal against the floor. This horizontal fire door separates the lower two floors from the top floor, compartmentalizing the vertical space. Hence, the three floors are no longer in common and are no longer considered an atrium. The design saved a large sum of money by pulling the space out of the atrium classification, while still providing the intended vertical connection the architects originally designed. #GA #NC #SC #ConventionCenter #CommercialDesign #FireSafety https://lnkd.in/ew_Wg2tQ

This project incorporated murals on various partitions with a custom stack layout to help meet the client's needs. Maxson Associates provided Jansen Wall Solutions J’Slim Demountable Partition on the new #CabarrusCounty Library in Mt. Pleasant, #NC – the unit features two sliding doors to optimize the layout of the doors, creating a larger opening into a smaller reading/meeting room that can be closed for privacy or left open to use the room as part of the larger library. The entire system snaps together and apart, allowing relocation without expensive demolition and construction; a flexible solution that can change with the needs of the facility!
