As a Latinx woman navigating corporate America, she overcame countless challenges, learning to innovate with limited resources, lead strategically, and adapt to constant change. Throughout this journey, she developed a deep commitment to fostering the growth and development of diverse leaders. Today, as the founder of Thrive & Lead by Design, Inc., Cecilia leverages her broad skillset to guide diverse leaders across both corporate and social impact sectors. Her expertise spans strategy, operations, and talent development—helping leaders to achieve business and career success while driving meaningful impact.  Originally from Honduras, Cecilia’s personal journey has instilled in her a deep sense of purpose and dedication to giving back. We are excited she discovered Maya’s Hope and has joined us as a Host Committee Member, passionately supporting our mission of advocating for vulnerable children. Imagine not being able to sit, stand, or even speak until the age of six—this is Veronika's reality. Born prematurely in Ukraine, Veronika came into the world through an emergency C-section after her mother was rushed to the ER. She fought against birth asphyxia and a severe blood condition. Though she survived, Veronika was left with cerebral palsy and speech delays, making it impossible for her to sit, stand, or communicate easily. At six years old, Veronika finally spoke her first words after extensive therapy. She faces learning difficulties but is bright and eager to learn. Meet Anastasiia, a 10-year-old girl in Ukraine! Anastasiia lives with cerebral palsy, spastic tetraparesis, epilepsy, and other challenges. She can’t walk, only sits with support, and tries her best to crawl. She speaks with difficulty and needs help with everyday tasks like eating and writing. Life with these conditions isn’t easy, and Anastasiia’s family had to leave their home because of the war. Now, they’re struggling to afford basic essentials like diapers and medicine. Through partnerships with public schools and organizations in disadvantaged areas across Australia, Katia has helped bring the joy of dance to countless young hearts. Originally from Ukraine, Katia’s personal journey has shaped her dedication to giving back. Six years ago, she discovered Maya’s Hope through a heartfelt moment involving a little Ukrainian boy who resembled her own son. Since then, she has been a passionate supporter of our work, advocating for vulnerable children around the world. Her experience and compassion are invaluable to our mission of supporting orphans and children with disabilities, especially in Ukraine. We are honored to have her as part of our team and excited for the leadership and insights she will bring to our efforts. His fight wasn't easy—he battled pneumonia, sepsis, and multiple setbacks, spending three long months in the hospital. 💔 Despite the challenges, his mother never gave up hope. She juggled caring for Angelo and his siblings while trying to make ends meet. But thanks to YOU and our amazing partners in Manila, Angelo received the life-saving surgeries he so desperately needed! Danilo was born prematurely at 33 weeks and faced a tough start. He didn't breathe at birth and spent over 20 days in the hospital. Danilo was diagnosed with spastic tetraplegia, which means he can't speak, sit, or walk. He needs care 24/7, a special formula for feeding, and constant attention. Life has been really hard for Danilo and his family. They struggle to afford basic things like hygiene products and baby food.
