𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗗 🚍 Students in Derbyshire are set to benefit from free bus travel to colleges in the Greater Manchester area next term, saving families hundreds of pounds a year. It makes good economic sense to support as many students as we can to travel to the colleges where they want to study and learn. It’s one of my priorities to make sure everyone gets the skills they need and this is one practical way to help us achieve this for the East Midlands

Leaders across the East Midlands have come together to call for a long-term plan for improving regional rail services following a report from Transport for the East Midlands (TfEM) that shines a spotlight on the opportunity to improve regional rail services. The report, titled “A Platform for Growth”, highlights the need to develop a more competitive rail offer in the East Midlands, improve performance standards, and for an East Midlands voice within the new Great British Railways Transition Team (GBRTT). Chair of Transport for the East Midlands, Sir Peter Soulsby, was joined at Chesterfield Station by Claire Ward, Mayor of the East Midlands, Leader of Chesterfield Borough Council, Tricia Gilby, and Managing Director of East Midlands Railway, Will Rogers. Throughout my election campaign, people raised the issue of safer neighbourhoods and rising anti-social behaviour. It's also important to make sure visitors to our region feel that they're in safe hands. That's why I'm proud to support Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner's new policing survey which gives you a say in how Derbyshire Constabulary works.
