California Business & Marketing Futuring Panels Recap Learning from business and industry: Last week, we heard directly from business and marketing professionals in Northern California in two separate in-person focus panels. Participants included entrepreneurs and individuals working in business management, financial services, international business, marketing, and professional sales. Looking to the future: Futuring panels are unique in that they provide forward-thinking perspectives with a focus on trends and issues currently affecting the workplace, as well as related skills needed by California’s business and marketing professionals both today and into the future. In addition to identifying top trends, participants reviewed California’s standards for the Business and Finance and Marketing Sales and Service industry sectors and provided input on emerging occupations, recognized credentials, and ethics in business and marketing. We partnered with the California Department of Education (CDE) to conduct two futuring panels in Sacramento this week.  These focus panels featured CA business professionals who shared their feedback and perspectives on various topics, including trends affecting employees' required skills and knowledge, reviewing and validating current state curriculum standards, identifying necessary credentials, and emerging occupations. Peter Callas, CDE Director of the Career & College Transition Division, and Molly Anderson, Education Programs Consultant in the CDE Career Technical Education Leadership Office. Ms. Anderson is also the CA Consortium Representative and Secretary/Treasurer for the MBA Research Board of Trustees.  We are incredibly grateful for the time and participation of these business professionals.
